CPT SurfAQ 3515 Technical Data Sheet

Description: CPT SurfAQ 3515 is a blend of anthraquinone (AQ) and proprietary surfactant used in
the kraft digester to increase pulp yield, reduce alkali consumption, therein increasing
potential incremental production, and decrease dirt/DCM-extractables.

In addition to decreasing dirt/DCM-extractables the surfactant decreases the amount of

AQ required to affect the alkali rduction by increasing the rate of penetration of the AQ
into the chip and provides a more uniform activity of the AQ as the physical
characteristics of the chips change from day to day.

Application: CPT SurfAQ 3515 is a liquid applied through a progressive cavity pump to the suction
side of the cook liquor pump, or recirculation pump on continuous digesters, at 0.05 –
0.10% w/w based on oven dry wood weight. Typically the feed pump is controlled by
the DCS but a simple on/off switch through a zero voltage relay tied to the liquor pump
is an effective alternative.

Viscosity; 200-800cps

Specific Gravity; 1.15

Solids; 50% min.
