 LESSON PLAN

Level : Elementary School

Skill : Speaking and Writing

Duration : 45 minutes

Purpose :

1. Students can learn new verbs

2. Students know the types of verbs
3. After a lesson on verbs, students will be able to give appropriate verbs

Material : Verbs

Media : English book

Procedure :

A. Opening ( 5 minutes);
1. Teacher greets students
2. Teacher asks the leader of the class to lead praying
3. Teacher gives Brainstorming
B. Main activity/ teaching procedure (35 menit)
1. Teacher explained the material about the verb
2. Teachers invite students to write type of verbs
3. The teacher asks the students to ask
4. The teacher asked the students to create a group
5. Teachers introduce the comlink games
6. Teacher asked the group representative to draw a piece of paper
7. Representatives of the group were asked to perform a movement from a verb
written on paper
8. Then the group member answered what movement his friend was building
9. If a group member successfully answers then let the other members take turns
being a visual.
10. Do it to the last cell.
 C. Closing (5 minutes)
Teacher summarizing the lesson that has been learned by asking the students to come
forward, retelling the material.

VERB

Verb is part of the Part of Speech that shows actions, events, situations, and attitudes.

Type of Verb (Kata Kerja)

A. Transitive Verb
Transitive verb is a verb that requires an object to complete understanding.
Then a transitive verb cannot stand alone without noun or pronoun. Exemplary words
are play, teach, take, make, tell, lend, offer, get, etc.
Example:
- She makes a cake.
- We will play volleyball on this afternoon.
- Don't tell my secret to anyone!
Verb makes, play, dan tell in the example above if without an object can will
be incorrect.
B. Intransitive Verb
Intransitive is a verb that does not require sentence objects. Exemplary words
are happen, arrive, ache, glow, bleed, disappear, laugh, cry, shine, speak, etc.
Example:
- When will the bus from Garut arrive?
- I'm laughing so hard when I see you started that silly dancing in front of me.
- The thief suddenly disappear in the crowd.
C. Linking Verb
Linking verb is a verb that links one word with another word to form a
sentence. Included in the linking verb is be, am, is, are, was, were, been, appear,
prove, become, continue, feel, look, smell, sound, taste.
Contoh Kalimat
- I am not afraid, because you will always beside me.
- I love the smell first rain touching the ground.
- I am writing my blog now, please don't disturb.
D. Auxiliary Verb
 Auxiliary verb is a verb that appears before the main verb in a sentence.
Auxiliary consists of be, do, have, can, could, will, would, shall, should, may, must,
ought to.
Example:
- I am watching TV.
- My dog has been missing for two days.
- We should take bus now, because this is already late.
E. Regular Verb
Regular verb is organized verb because everything ends with -ed. Seperti
study menjadi studied, walk menjadi walked, cook menjadi cooked, dan lain lain.
Example:
- The ghost walked through the wall.
- My mother cooked tteokpokki for the first time.
- The police helped people across the crowded way.
F. Irregular Verb
To understand the second and third forms of irregular verbs we must
memorize or look in the dictionary. Example words like: go - went - gone, drink -
drank - drunk, eat - ate - eaten, etc.
Example :
- I went to Jakarta two days ago.
- My boyfriend wrote a love letter to me.
