Chemical Services Ltd.

We are committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and
healthy workplace for our employees and minimises our potential impact on the
environment. We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental
legislation and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best
practices in all we do.

We will:-

• integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all of


our decision making and activities,
• promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them
to work in an environmentally responsible manner,
• train, educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may
affect their work,
• reduce waste through re-use and recycling and by purchasing recycled,
recyclable or re-furbished products and materials where these alternatives are
available, economical and suitable,
• promote efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facility
including water, electricity, raw materials and other resources, particularly
those that are non-renewable,
• avoid unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products, seek substitutions
when feasible, and take all reasonable steps to protect human health and the
environment when such materials must be used, stored and disposed of,
• purchase and use environmentally responsible products accordingly,
• where required by legislation or where significant health, safety or
environmental hazards exist, develop and maintain appropriate emergency and
spill response programmes,
• communicate our environmental commitment to clients, customers and the
public and encourage them to support it,
• strive to continually improve our environmental performance and minimise
the social impact and damage of activities by periodically reviewing our
environmental policy in light of our current and planned future activities.

Electro-Metal Plating Ltd.


Environmental Policy Statement

Despite being a small business, EMP recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and
global environment. As a consequence we attach maximum importance to matters concerning the environment.

EMP’s policy is to meet and, where practical, exceed all relevant regulatory requirements and to minimise any
adverse environmental effects caused as a result of our activities.

Our environmental aims:-


• Continually monitor legislative changes and developments and make changes to our policy and
practice to ensure compliance;
• Ensure the responsible use of energy (in our case, principally electricity) throughout our business by
conserving energy wherever possible, monitoring and improving energy consumption and efficiency
on a regular basis, and encouraging best practice within our company and by our business associates;
• Minimise the impact of our travel in cars or on public transport;
• Conserve natural resources by re-using and recycling packaging and stationery materials, purchasing
recycled materials where appropriate, and using recyclable packaging and other materials wherever
possible;
• Endeavour to perform business electronically, to reduce paper usage;
• Be a responsible member of the local business community in our town and its immediate area in the
way that we impact on the environment that we share, and to act promptly and effectively to correct
any problems or incidents that might affect the environment or the health or safety of our staff, of our
business neighbours or of the inhabitants of the area;
• Utilise products that we know to be safe to use, energy efficient in operation, protective of the
environment, and that can be re-used, recycled or disposed of safely;
• Endeavour to meet or exceed applicable government and European requirements and voluntarily to
abide by and, where appropriate, adopt the environmental policies of our customers;
• Make all employees aware of this policy and their responsibilities for environmental issues;
• Undertake regular and comprehensive self-assessments of our compliance with this policy and report
annually to the management meeting;
• Review and update this policy on an annual basis, or more frequently if required. In practical terms,
this includes (but is not limited to):-
1. Non-essential electrical equipment will be switched off whenever possible.
2. In particular the Office lights will be turned off overnight, and over weekends.
3. Office Heating will be turned down to acceptable and staff-agreed levels
4. Any procurement of goods or services should consider the environmental impact of the product
purchased, its packaging and delivery method. Where it is sensible, we will use second-user or
recycled equipment.
5. While the town itself is difficult to get to on public transport, environmental planning can affect
other business journeys. we will:-
• We will actively look for practical public transport alternatives for any trip.
• We will aim to share lifts whenever two or more staff are visiting the same site
and have a similar route or part of route.
• We will attempt to minimise travel in general by the careful planning of
meetings with clients.
• All Paper, Plastics and Glass consumed within the office will be recycled, separately from other
refuse.
• Confidential paper matter will be shredded before recycling. (Exceptions to this rule are possible for
very sensitive material.)

Loire Crystal Glass Ltd. (LCG)

As Loire Crystal Glass Ltd. is a prestige giftware company we take protection of the
environment very seriously.
Caring for the environment is one of our key responsibilities and is an important
consideration in the way we operate.

To this end:-

• we ensure that we comply with relevant legislation and codes of practice.


• We strive to keep wastage to a minimum,
• We maximise the efficient use of resources
• We manage and dispose of all waste responsibly.
• We aim to retain our carbon footprint and keep our contribution to the pollution
of land, water and air to a minimum.
• We ensure that electrical equipment, is switched off overnight and whenever
possible.
• We encourage our suppliers and subcontractors to adopt an environmental
management system.
• We ensure that all employees are made aware of environmental issues through a
programme of training relevant to their roles.
• We will provide information on our environmental performance to interested parties

• We continuously monitor progress on all materials coming to and dispatched


from our site.

Social and Environmental Charter

Products created by Anne-Marie Arnoult are made from natural and often rare and exceptional
raw materials. Her design and manufacture of luxury products not only require innovation,

Environmental Policy
Loire Furniture Ltd.

Introduction & Aim


At Loire Furniture Ltd., We believe that our business is responsible for achieving good
environmental practice and operating in a sustainable manner.
We are therefore committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving
our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy
and operating methods.

Specifically we will:
Wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental
legislation and codes of practice.
Ensure that all employees, visitors and contractors understand our environmental policy and
confirm to the high standards it requires.
Set out clear environmental objectives, which are relevant to the nature, scale and
environmental impacts of our activities.
Identify performance targets by which progress towards these environmental objectives can
be measured and reviewed.
Assess the environmental impact of any new processes or products we intend to introduce in
advance.
Objectives
During 2017 we aim to :-
Minimise our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as possible.
Minimise energy usage in our buildings, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies.
Minimise our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable.
Reduce solvent consumption and the emissions of volatile organic compounds.
Monitor Nuisances from our processes such as noise, dusts and fumes.
Targets
To achieve our aims, we have set ourselves the following targets:-
To look at our recycling process, implement tighter controls, procedures and staff training to
reduce the amount of waste going to landfill by 2% in 2017.
To reduce the amount of solvent based products used in our processes by at least 1% by the
end of year 2017.
To reduce our 3 main energy uses by the end of the year 2017;Electric 1%, Water 1% and
Heating Diesel 2%.
Due to the size and nature of our business, "Nuisances" from our processes can be a factor;
by the end of 2017 we will strive for "zero complaints" on noise, fumes, dusts.
Monitoring and Auditing
Progress against these objectives will be monitored through monthly management meetings.

Environmental Policy Statement

Loire Specialist Paints Ltd (LSP)is a professional and environmentally conscious


organisation, which acknowledges the impact that our operations may potentially have on
the environment. The clear objective of LSP is to minimise any impact on the environment
by:

• Preventing pollution, reducing waste and ensuring whatever practical measures are
implemented to protect and preserve natural habitats, flora and fauna;
• Considering the effects that our operations may have on the local community;
• Taking action to eliminate or reduce as far as practicable, any potential adverse
environmental impacts;
• Promote environmental awareness amongst our suppliers, contractors and partners
by implementation of operational procedures;
• Seek to work in partnership with the community by behaving in a considerate and
socially responsible manner;
• Ensure effective and expedient incident control, investigation and reporting

Management and supervisory staff have responsibilities for the implementation of the
policy and must ensure that environmental issues are given adequate consideration in the
planning and day-to-day supervision of all work.
LSP will fully comply with the duties placed upon it within the requirements of Statutory
Legislation, whilst at all times complying with, as a matter of best practice, the
requirements and duties set out within Approved Guidance as issued by the Environment
Agency and other organisations.

All employees and sub-contractors are expected to co-operate and assist in the
implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own works, so far as is reasonably
practicable, are carried out without risk to themselves, others or the environment. This
includes co-operating with management on any environment related matter.
LSP will take all practical steps to ensure that potential hazards and risks to the
environment are identified and that suitable and effective preventive and control measures
are implemented. All employees will be provided with the necessary resources, equipment,
information, instruction and training to fulfil the requirements of this policy.

The Directors have overall responsibility for all Environmental matters. The operation of
this policy and the associated procedures will be monitored and reviewed on a regular
basis to ensure that they remain current and applicable and applicable to the company’s
activities. This policy has been endorsed by the Director who gives his full support to the
implementation of the policy.
