Introduction
System Configuration Manager is a desktop application that provides a convenient mechanism for
managing the configuration of supported mobile computers. Templates are used for each supported
mobile computer which define the parameters that can be configured. These parameters can then be
saved in a form that can be deployed to the mobile computer.

Description
System Configuration Manager 2.1 has the following new features...

1. Rebranded as System Configuration Manager.

2. Added support for multiple scanners in templates. Previous versions supported only one
scanner in a device template.
3. New templates for ES400 and MC65.(Added August 2011)*
4. New templates for MC55A0, MC55N0, MC75A, MC2100 and MC9100. (Added August
2012)*
5. Updated MC9500, MC3100, ES400, MC65 templates. (Added August 2012)*
6. New templates for VC70N0, MC67NA, MC4500, WT41N0, and LEX700. (Added February
2013)*
7. New templates for MC92N0. (Added May 2013)*

*New device approval has been received for this package. The approval did not require any
software changes. If you have already installed the package, there is no need to download and install
it again.

The following software must be installed prior to using System Configuration Manager.

Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows 7 Operating System
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 or higher (for Windows XP only) (optional)

Installation Instructions
1. Install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 if not already installed.
2. Download the System Configuration Manager package below and unzip it to a temporary
directory.
3. Run the downloaded SCM executable.
4. Accept all defaults.
5. On completion, System Configuration Manager can be found in the Start Programs menu.

Known Issues
1. Setting scanner interface parameters causes an error each time the scanner is subsequently
opened.
The following SCM templates are effected and may require an updated OS which fixes this
issue.
The error can be avoided in SCM by only exporting changes, provided that scanner interface
parameters are not changed.

MC3100 template requires OS v02.17.06 or higher.

MC75 template requires OS v02.38.03 or higher.
MC55 template requires OS v02.38.03 or higher.
