Questions:
A. Explain the impact the development of microscope had on the scientist of Biology.
 It is very astonishing how one invention changed and helped us grow our knowledge about
life. The invention of the microscope has opened the scientist’s minds about how living
things work. Scientists uses microscope to observe our cells, genes and DNA which helps
them to further analyze our background in terms of our descendants and it also helps them
to know how they can formulate medicines to protect as from diseases.

B. Why is it important for the scientist to share their finding?

 It is important for scientist to share their discovery because other scientist may confirm
their findings if it’s correct or if there is a defective on their research. Scientist may also be
inspired to execute and explore their finding further to achieve greater knowledge about
that certain topic. Last but not the least, other scientists may have conducted a similar
findings and they may want to compare and contrast the results.

C. Did Hooke and Leeuwenhoek influence one another’s research? Explain.

 In my opinion, yes. When Hooke presented his first publish depiction of microorganism
on 1665 Leeuwenhoek must have heard it and was intrigued about microorganism which
later on he observed the living microorganism in pond water.

D. Why is it that the cell theory remains a theory?

 The cell theory remains a theory because cell theory explains how cells function. Law in
science is a generalized rule to explain a body of observations in the form of a verbal or
mathematical statement; since no scientist know how to describe a cell with a working
formula the cell theory remains a theory.

E. Do you think other scientists have to consider changing the cell theory to a principle or a law? Why
or why not?
 In my opinion, no because as I have tackle on the las question law in science is a
generalized rule to explain a body of observations in the form of a verbal or mathematical
statement. The cell theory can only be a law or a principle if scientists found out the
formula of how they function.
