BSED Science 3A
MODULE 1
1. What caused scientist to discover the existence of cells?
Scientists were able to discover the presence of cells thanks to the
microscope developed by Antonio Van Leeuwenhoek, which uses
lenses to magnify tiny living organisms, leading to the discovery of
plant and animal cells, as well as other cells.
Application:
1. What makes the cell biological history so important to study with?
The benefit of studying the cell biological history is that it has led to new
discoveries such as diseases, bacteria, viruses, and other species. Cell
biologists working in animal, plant, and medical science will be able to
produce new vaccines, more efficient drugs, and plants with enhanced
characteristics as they understand how cells function in stable and
diseased states. They will also be able to gain a better understanding of
how all living organisms exist as a result of their expanded awareness. It
has saved millions of lives in various parts of the world by preventing
disease from spreading further.

Reflection:
All known species have a cell as their basic structural, functional, and
biological unit. Since cells are the smallest units of life, they are often
referred to as "building blocks of life." Cell biology, cellular biology, or
cytology are both terms for the study of cells. The cell theory, also known
as the cell doctrine, claims that all species are made up of identical
organizational units called cells. Schleiden & Schwann formally articulated
the idea in 1839, and it has remained the cornerstone of modern biology
ever since. The concept predates other major biological paradigms such as
Darwin's theory of evolution (1859), Mendel's laws of inheritance (1865),
and the creation of the human genome project. One of the most important
discoveries in science is the discovery of the nature of the tiny unit of life,
the cell, which has made significant contributions from the beginning to the
present. This discovery piques everyone's interest in how things work and
are important in our lives, and without the aid of scientists researching cells
and inventing the microscope, we would not be able to produce
medication, vaccines, or high-quality foods to avoid diseases and keep our
cells safe. They can also establish which viruses and bacteria are
responsible for the illnesses. It encourages us as individuals to be informed
and aware of the world around us, as well as to respect the technologies,
developments, and discoveries of scientists throughout history who provide
us with information data that we can use indefinitely, and may the presence
of cells assist us in saving more lives. Most importantly, we will not live in
this world without the presence of cells since we are all cells that develop
and grow.
