The Vision and Mission


a) PAI is aimed at the overall mission of of promoting good quality education
especially in rural communities, speeding up regional integration, peace
initiative and advocacy in continents in order to enable all members and the
rest of the world to play its rightful role in the global peace building, achieving
education goal for all children, whiles at the same time addressing a myriad of
peace issues, causes of violence, war and fostering peace education. The PAI
is based on the common vision of a United Nations (UN) the Organization of
Africa Unity (OAU), the European Union (EU) and on the need to build a
partnership between governments and all segments of civil society, in
particular women, children, youth and the private sector, in order to strengthen
solidarity and cohesion among individuals. It focuses on the promotion of
human right (with special focus on right of children in the area of education
and women), peace, security and stability on all continents as a prerequisite for
the implementation of the development and integration agenda of the
organization

Clause 2:

Objectives

The objective of PAI is as follows but not limited to:

a) To achieve greater unity and solidarity between all the countries and its peoples
across the world;

b) To defend the sovereignty, integrity, and independence of its Member States;

b) To accelerate and promote Peace building process and modalities on the


world;
d) To promote and defend all continents common positions on issues of interest to
the continent and its peoples.

e) To champion free, fair and the rule of law in electoral processes in member
states.

f) To encourage international cooperation, taking due account of the Charter of


the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;

g) To promote peace, security, and stability.

h) To promote democratic principles and institutions, popular participation and


good governance;

i) To promote and protect human and peoples' rights and other relevant human
rights instruments;

j) To establish the necessary conditions which enable PAI to play its rightful role
in the global Peace advocacy and negotiations;

k) To promote sustainable development at the social, and cultural levels as well


as the integration of PAI member state;

l) To promote co-operation in all fields of human activity to raise the living


standards of peoples in regards to sustainable peace promotions and awareness;

m) To coordinate and harmonize the policies between the existing and future
Regional Peace organizations for the gradual attainment of the objectives of PAI;

n) To advance the development by promoting research in all fields, in particular


science and technology;

o) To work with relevant international partners in the eradication of preventable


diseases, the promotion of good health, and promotion of non-violent modalities
of peace prevention.

TRAINING ON RESEARCH
WRITING AND PROPOSAL
WRITING AT THE OPEN
UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA
Directorate of Research and Publications is planning to conduct an online course in research
writing and proposal writing. The course will run for an 8-week period from 30th September to
24th November 2019 on OUT's e-learning platform. The online course will cover literature
review, research and publication ethics, writing a grant proposal, and writing and publishing a
research paper. To complete the course and receive a course completion certificate, you'll
need to go through the content in each section and get a passing score on the multiple-choice
quizzes. Extra credit will be given to those who complete the writing activities which include
peer assessment.

The course will be facilitated by OUT staff members who have been trained on online
facilitation skills. They will respond to questions from the participants and initiate topics for
discussion. To be a successful course participant, you should plan to spend around 4 hours
per week studying on the course. The course is designed for low-bandwidth connections, and
there are no synchronous or live activities. You can study on the course in your own time.
Further information will be given once the course begins.
