The Manual is in three parts. First is the standard, “Details and Detailing of Con-
crete Reinforcement (ACI 315-92).” This document is divided into three sections,
one addressed to the engineer, one to the detailer, and the third providing tables
and figures. It attempts to define the responsibilities of both engineer and detailer,
and establishes standards of practice for showing reinforcement details in both
engineering and placing drawings. The second part of the Manual is the report,
ACI 315R-94, “Manual of Engineering and Placing Drawings for Reinforced Con-
crete Structures.” It is a selection of foldout drawings, accompanied by commen-
tary, for both highway and nonhighway reinforced structures. The third part of the
Detailing Manual consists of supporting reference data.

Keywords: Beams (supports); bending (reinforcing steels); bridges (structures); buildings;

columns (supports); computers; concrete construction; concrete slabs; detailing; drafting
(drawing); engineering drawings; fabrication; floor systems; foundations; hooked rein-
forcement; precast concrete; prestressed concrete; reinforced concrete; reinforcing steels;
splicing; stirrups; structural design; ties (reinforcement); tolerances (mechanics); walls;
welded wire fabric.

SP-66(94) is available in spiral bound, 81/4 × 11 in. soft cover format. The standard, ACI 315-92,
can be found in its entirety in the ACI Manual of Concrete Practice, printed version, Part 3, and on
this CD.
