How environmental problems affect animals

Pollution has caused a large number of effects that seriously harm the different species and races of
the world, these effects can be: oil spills where birds such as seagulls are trapped on the beaches, as
their feathers are impregnated with oil and cannot fly, this causes them to lose their insulation
capacity and end up dying of hypothermia. Also, due to this contamination, fish can incorporate
organic pollutants and the predators that consume them can transmit oil poisoning from one animal
to another through the food chain, endangering the safety of human food, other species that are
seen. affected by the oil spill in the waters are those that live in the superficial part of the sea
(turtles, whales and dolphins) that have to rise to the surface in order to breathe, therefore if they
come into contact with this spill they can suffer obstructions in the respiratory tract.
Another pollution that affects birds is noise pollution which is caused by noise in cities (the noise of
cars, factories, motorcycles, etc.), this affects the song of birds in which it lowers its frequency, also
so much noise alters the behavior of the birds causing stress in them and therefore their
reproduction is affected. Also, this pollution produced by humans affects marine species due to the
noise that ships cause causing mammals such as the whale where they can kill them as they become
disoriented due to said noise.
Pollution in the world has also developed the melting of the poles, which has caused the extinction
of polar bears, this forces the bear to retreat to the mainland without having completed its fat
reserves that they lose during the summer so critically It affects the ability of females to become
pregnant and this reduces milk production to feed their young.(Rodriguez, 2016).

There is a possibility of preventing these diseases

➢ Avoid sudden changes in temperature, since the cold irritates the respiratory tract.
➢ Avoid extreme exercise on high pollution or pre-emergency days.
➢ Keep the house well ventilated, free of dust and cigarette smoke, as they can be irritating
especially in pets that are already sick.(Botbol, 2012)

Pollution: effect on animals

Any alteration in one of its components affects the ecological balance. The extinction of animal
species or the decrease in their number, causes a drastic variation in the number of other species
belonging to fauna.
This fact leads to the disappearance of some species, the increase of others and, consequently, to the
breaking of the delicate balance of nature. Like people, pets are affected by environmental pollution
due to the pollution of dust particles, carbon monoxide and microorganisms that increase the
chances that they will suffer from respiratory diseases.
It is a substance in a medium that causes damage to plants and animals can be chemicals, energy as
well as sound, heat, light or radiation.
Pollution causes the extinction of species and plants that can lead to the breakdown of the delicate
balance of nature. The causes in animals are diseases which can cause their death as well as plants,
this prevents their growth, which also affects the animal. since the chemicals do not grow and the
animals depend on them to live.(Cancino,2015).

Causes
1. The slaughter of animals for the value of their fur.
2. Intensive fishing and hunting to market their meats.
3. Contamination of foreign species to their habitat, that is, "invasive species".
4. Dams, waterways, and other large enterprises that man builds.
5. Pollution of the seas due to oil loss.
