1. Features

GENERAL
ALIAPANEL ARC900 Series Paperless Recorder features the most
advanced technology. It can be applied across a broad scope of industrial
applications. ARC900 is the product which with multi-channels, complete
functions, easy operation, high accuracy, low power but high performance.
And the series overcome the old-fashioned paperless recorder, which
has less channels, multiple installation and space-consuming problem.

2. Installation & Wiring diagram
2.1 Installation Position
Please install the instrument in the following position.
 Installation Method
Two types of installation, panel mounting and wall mounting.
 Installation Position
To prevent rain and direct sunlight, the instrument should be installed indoors.
 Well-ventilated position
To prevent the internal temperature rise, the instrument should be installed in a well-ventilated position.
 Minimum mechanical vibrations
The instrument should be installed in the place with minimum mechanical vibration.
 Horizontal
When installing instrument, please do not tilt left or right, try to remain horizontal (it can be tilted back to 30°).

Note
 Condensation may occur if the instrument is moved to another place where
both temperature & humidity are higher, or if the temperature change rapidly. In
addition, measurement errors will result when using thermocouples. In this
condition, let the instrument adapt to the surrounding environment for one hour or
more before using.
 The lifespan of LCD will be shortened (lower picture quality etc.) if the
instrument is used in high-temperature environment over a long period of time.
Please do not use the instrument in high-temperature (above 40 oC) environment.

Do not install the instrument in the following position.


 In direct sunlight and near heat sources
Please install the instrument in the place with small temperature change and near normal temperature(25 oC).
Install it in direct sunlight or near heat sources that will have a bad impact on its internal circuitry.
 Where an excessive amount of soot, steam, moisture, dust, corrosive gases are present.
Soot, steam, moisture, dust, corrosive gases will have a negative impact on instrument.
 Near strong magnetic field sources
Please do not bring magnets or instruments that produce electromagnetic fields close to the instrument. If install it
near the source of strong magnetic field that will cause display error.
 Bad angle for viewing the pictures
The instrument with TFT color LCD, it is difficult to view the display from an extreme angle. So please install it in the
position that the observer can view from the front.

2.4 The Connection of Input/output Signal Cables

Take measures to prevent noise from entering the measurement.


 Move the measurement circuit away from the power cable (power circuit) and ground cable.
 It is desirable that the object being measured does not generate noise. However, if this is unavoidable, isolate the
measurement circuit from the object, and ground the object being measured.
 Shielded wires should be used to minimize noise caused by electrostatic induction. Connect the shied to the ground
terminal of the instrument according to the need (please do not grounding at two points).
 For the interference caused by electromagnetic induction, if splicing the equidistant dense circuit wiring, it will be
more effective.
 The resistance of ground terminal is lower. (It should be lower than 10 ohms.)
When using the thermocouple input, please keep the temperature of input terminal stable.
 Please use input terminal cover.
 Please don't use thick cables. (Cross sectional area 0.5 mm2 or less is recommended.)
 Please try to keep external temperature stable. Large temperature fluctuations will occur if a nearby fan turns on/off.
If the input wires are connected in parallel with other instruments, that will cause signal degradation, affecting all
connected devices.
If you need to make a parallel connection, please note:
 Ground all instruments to the same point.
 Do not turn on/off another instrument during operation. Otherwise that will have a bad impact on other instruments.
 Thermal resistance can not be wired in parallel.
 Current signal can not be wired in parallel.

Warning
 To prevent electric shock, ensure the main power supply is turned off
when connecting signal cables.

5.1 Status Display

The following information is displayed in the status display section during the operation mode and the configuration
mode.

1. Data show the combination number of screen display, if no use the combination number, and then show 【Device name】.
2. Data query screen and configuration screen show the display name.
② Ethernet flag
A: Connection is working.

B: No plug network cable.

C: IP address conflict.

③ SD Card Connection flag


D: SD card connection is working.

E: Automatic backup of data is being written. (D/E displays in turns)

No show: No SD card connector or SD card connection fails.

④ USB Device Identification


Display: USB device connects to instrument.

No Show: No USB devices connect to instrument or connection fails.

⑤ Circulation display flag


Circulation icon: Circulation displays each group.

No Show: Fixed screen, there is no circulation.

⑥ Storage recording mode flag


F icon: Recording mode is circular, the file is recording.

6.1 ARC 900 4-20mA Signal Application Illustration

Connect AMC2100 (ALIA electromagnetic flowmeter) converter’s 4-20mA output to ARC900’s 4-20mA input. Since
AMC2100’s 4-20mA is active input, so AMC2100’s 4-20mA output cable can be connected to ARC900 directly. If
4-20mA is positive output, power supply should be connected in series in the loop.

Available to set data storage type, the trigger includes manual, alarm, relay, switch, timer,

should be set for flow channel: one is flow configuration while other is input configuration.

change to “kg/h” ,View scale change to 0~300.
To set uncompensated range, it has to be achieved by entering “flow configuration→setting” as 2.4. For other channels,

10. How to Download Data from the Paperless Recorder
1. Ensure FAT32 USB drive format. If not, please set it to FAT32. (Note: Max. USB capacity is 8GB and SD card 4GB)
2. Ensure enough USB drive storage capacity and should be more than recorder’s internal storage memory (Not less
than 4MB).
3. Plug USB drive into USB slot or SD card in front of recorder.
File Name: “Default Format: DAT+’S/N’ (S/N is editable)
Report Name: “Default Format: RPT+’S/N’(S/N is editable).
It will create a data file in USB drive or SD card (e.g.: DAT001.RDZ).
The data will be automatically saved in the file. During data transfer, do not plug out USB drive or SD card, otherwise
paperless recorder will not work normally. If abnormality occurs, plug out USB drive or SD card and follow step 1 & step
2 as above.
After USB drive plug-in, shift to “Backup Data” to check progress of exported data.

Firstly, set related parameters such as baud rate, parity bit, stop bit .etc. Secondly, choose the same setting value in the
Communication software interface (Start bit is 1, data bit is 8 and stop bit is 1. Those are certain.)
Register data readings support swap-byte function, 4 alternatives given below are for you to choose: 1-2 3-4、 2-1 4-3、
3-4 1-2、4-3 2-1. The default order is 2-1 4-3.
1. Instruction Programming Rule
E.g. If the totalizer of Channel 1 is to be seen, set the meters to 2-1 4-3 default order to get the data storage from
register. And refer to table 1, enter below instructions:
