3.2.Market Growth

Stringent regulations for dealing with high industrial effluents to natural

water bodies, increased rate of human sewage and increasing concern about
depleting water resources is expected to drive the water treatment market. However,
investors in the water treatment market face a number of barriers as the market is
typically capital-intensive and ridden with uncertainties with regards to returns on
investment. Thus, high capital investment, followed by a slow rate of return and a
prolonged period of payback, is likely to restrict investments in the water treatment
market.

3.4.Adverting & Promotions

• Identify the Market

A water treatment business can have a wide range of clients. Part of your market research should
entail identification of a need for your products, and it's a good idea to focus on a particular niche
such as commercial businesses, residential users or beverage services in restaurants. Note that the
responsibility of ensuring water quality extends beyond the treatment process at your facility; you
have to guarantee quality during the distribution phase. This will align well with those you are
doing business with especially for delivery of the products.
• Effective Message Delivery
Depending on whether you are treating water for human consumption or industrial use, you need
to work on your marketing message. If it is for domestic use, emphasize how effective your

system is at purifying the water. It helps to highlight factual statistics with your message
concerning how you meet established standards for clean, drinking water. If it is for industrial
use, your marketing should stress the reliability of your end product in meeting your clients'
requirements, such as the correct balance to acidity, alkalinity and dissolved oxygen to prevent
corrosion.
• Marketing via Print and Electronic Media
There are several channels you can use to market your water treatment dealership, depending on
your target audience. If you are targeting a local area, you may want to use local radio stations,
television, cable and newspapers. If your services can potentially cover several states or large
areas of the country, then cable TV channels and national newspapers would be applicable for a
nationwide marketing campaign. This would also be ideal if your business operates franchises or
intends to expand to other regions. Ads that offer incentives can be a good way to attract potential
clients and these media offer the most suitable forum.
• Online Channels
.
o ECOMAXET using all this kind of steps to promote their product and services to

4.1.Accounts Department
The accounting department is responsible for recording and reporting the cash flows, both in
and out, of a company. There are five basic roles or functions within the department:

• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• Payroll
• Financial controls
• Financial reporting

Each of these functions will be explored throughout. The financial controls are an important
part of every area of the accounting department.

Cash Receipts & Accounts Receivable

The cash flow that comes into the company is known as cash receipts. Cash receipts are
handled by the accounts receivable department. This process involves receiving and recording the
cash payments from customers for services rendered or products sold. Accounts receivable is
responsible for ensuring the customer receives an invoice for the goods or services and that the
customer pays the balance due on that invoice.
Financial controls come into play once the cash receipts are received and recorded in the system,
and a deposit needs to be made. In order to maintain the best separation of duties possible and
prevent any opportunity for wrong doing, it is a good idea to have one person recording the cash
and another person making the deposit at the bank.

Cash Disbursements & Accounts Payable

Cash flow that goes out of the company is called cash disbursements. This is handled by
the accounts payable department. Accounts payable is responsible for paying vendors for supplies
purchased or any other expenses incurred by the business: utilities, taxes, etc. Accounts payable
receives invoices from vendors, records them in the accounting system, and then writes the
checks to pay the vendors.
The financial controls occur in order to maintain a good separation of duties in this
department. One person should be responsible for recording the accounts payable, and a different
person should be responsible for signing the checks.

Payroll

Payroll is an action that is performed by companies with employees. Payroll is a critical

function of the accounting department and includes making sure all employees are paid accurately
and timely. In addition, proper tax is assessed and tax payments are on time with state and federal
government agencies. The term payroll has several different parts:

• The calculation and distribution of paychecks (physical or electronic) to employees each

payday.
• The financial records for employee wages and salaries, withholding, deductions, bonuses,
pay for time not worked (holidays, vacations, sick time, etc.) and other items on employee
paychecks
• It can also mean the record of total earnings of all employees for a company in a fiscal
year.

Financial control

Financial controls are processes, policies and procedures that are implemented to
manage finances. They play a role in achieving the organization's financial goals and meeting
obligations of corporate governance, fiduciary duty and due diligence.
Financial controls include reconciliations, dividing the responsibilities and following the
GAAP standards of accounting principles, all of which are implemented with view toward
compliance, fraud and theft prevention. The role of the Controller is to ensure procedures are set
up properly to manage that process without errors.

Financial Report

The primary reason you collect data properly in your accounting software is to prepare
financial reports that can be used for budgeting, forecasting and other decision making processes.
In addition, these and other reports are needed for communication to investors, banks and other
professionals that play a role in the growth of your business.

Financial statements are written records that convey the business activities and the financial
performance of a company. Financial statements are often audited by government agencies,
accountants, firms, etc. to ensure accuracy and for tax, financing, or investing purposes. Financial
statements include:

• Balance sheet
• Profit & Loss
• Cash flow statement

5.1.1. Water Treatment Plant

Wastewater treatment is a process used to

remove contaminants from wastewater or sewage and convert it into an effluent that can be
returned to the water cycle with minimum impact on the environment, or directly reused. The latter
is called water reclamation because treated wastewater can then be used for other purposes. The
treatment process takes place in a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), often referred to as a
Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) or a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). Pollutants in
municipal wastewater (households and small industries) are removed or broken down.
The treatment of wastewater is part of the overarching field of sanitation. Sanitation also includes
the management of human waste and solid waste as well as storm water (drainage) management.

UF, RO & DM Plants

Ultra filter system

ECO MAXET offers Ultra Filtration system

which helps to achieve reduction of Colloids
(SDI), Turbidity, Suspended Solids from feed
water. Generally, these systems are used when the
Colloids in raw water is beyond acceptable limits
as specified by RO membrane manufacturers. The
Ultra Filtration system helps to achieve a typical
minimum reduction of up to 90% in Colloids from influent water.

Ultra Filtration is a membrane separation process. The membranes (hollow fiber) typically are
encased in a pressure vessel and the influent water is passed through the membranes by use of a
pump. The water passes in an inside-out configuration. The porosity of the membrane (100000
molecular weight) allows most of the colloids to be rejected out (drained from system) and allows
only partial amount of colloids in treated (permeate) water. Periodically, the membrane surface is
cleaned by back flushing using permeate water and fast-flushed using influent water. This helps in
maintaining the membrane surface for repeat use. The process of back flush and fast flush is
automated since the frequency of this cleaning process could be within 60 minutes of service
cycle.
Features:

1. Significantly reduced RO membrane fouling and cleaning frequency

2. Extended RO membrane life
3. Reliable production of high quality water regardless of raw water turbidity
4. Consistently low SDI in the UF filtrate
5. Smaller footprints lower land acquisition costs
6. Lower consumption of operational and cleaning chemicals

RO - Reverse Osmosis

ECO MAXET offers Reverse Osmosis

system which helps to achieve
reduction of TDS (Dissolved
Impurities) from feed water.
Generally, these systems are used
when the TDS of water is quite high -
typically in bore well water. The
Reverse Osmosis system helps to
achieve a typical minimum reduction of up to 90% in TDS from influent water.

Reverse Osmosis is a membrane separation process. The membranes are housed in a pressure
vessel and the influent water is passed through the membranes by use of a high pressure pump.
The porosity of the membrane allows most of the dissolved impurities to be rejected (drained
from system) and allows only partial amount of TDS in treated (permeate) water.

Demineraliser

The influent water is led to a caution unit containing ion exchange resins in Hydrogen (H+)
form. When the influent water containing calcium, magnesium, sodium (Cautions in water) comes in
contact with the resins in Hydrogen form, Hydrogen ions are released in water in exchange of
Calcium, Magnesium and Sodium. A very small quantity of Sodium does escape through. Depending
on the feed water quality, the water is either led to a degasser tower or to an anion exchange unit.
Typically, a degasser tower is an atmospheric vessel containing a set of plastic packing rings. The
decationised water is sprayed in to the packing rings against an up flow of air.

This leads to a scrubbing action and dissolved gas viz. CO2 gets released and is vented out.
The degassed water is collected in a tank and then pumped to the Anion Exchange unit. The influent
water Decationised / degassed water are led to the anion unit containing ion exchange resins in
Hydroxyls (OH) form. The influent water containing chloride, sulphate, alkalinity, silica (anions in
water) comes in contact with the resins in Hydroxyl (OH) form, the OH ions gets released in water in
exchange of chloride, sulphate, Alkalinity and silica. A small quantity of silica slips through the anion
exchange unit. Ion Exchange reaction is a reversible one. On a predetermined time or output (when all
the H+ in caution resin and OH- in anion resin is exhausted), the unit is regenerated with HCl and
NaOH respectively.
It is a water purification process that uses a partially permeable membrane to remove ions,
unwanted molecules and larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, an applied pressure

is used to overcome osmotic pressure, a colligative property that is driven by chemical potential
differences of the solvent, a thermodynamic parameter. Reverse osmosis can remove many types of
dissolved and suspended chemical species as well as biological ones from water, and is used in both
industrial processes and the production of potable water. The result is that the solute is retained on the
pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side. To be
"selective", this membrane should not allow large molecules or ions through the pores, but should
allow smaller components of the solution.

Softner

ECO MAXET offers softner system which

helps to reduce hardness a series of pre engineered
packaged softeners to meet the needs of small and
medium industries. Water contains hardness
forming minerals viz. Calcium and Magnesium in
dissolved form. In the presence of alkalinity which
is available in water, these tend to form their
corresponding insoluble carbonates which leads to
scaling. Softening of water by use of Ion Exchange Process is well known. This process helps to
overcome the scaling tendency of water. Treated soft water will have a total hardness of < 5 ppm as
CaCO3 or commercial zero hardness which is well accepted for various end uses. Softner unit contains
ion exchange resins in Sodium (Na+) form. When the influent water containing calcium and magnesium
(hardness forming minerals) comes in contact with the resins in Sodium form, Sodium (non scale
forming) is released in water in exchange of Calcium and Magnesium. Ion Exchange reaction is a
reversible one. On a predetermined time or output, the unit is regenerated with NaCl (salt).

Mixed Bed Reactor

The treated water from a cation (degasser - optional) - anion unit will have a conductivity
of < 30 ms/cm at 25 deg C and a dissolved silica of < 0.5 ppm. Mixed Bed unit contains both
cation and anion exchange resin in mixed form, thus acting as multiple individual cation anion
unit in a single vessel. The trace sodium, silica from influent water is exchanged to produce the
desired treated water quality. Mixed Bed unit helps in achieving a conductivity of < 1 ms/cm at
25 deg C and a dissolved slicaof< 0.05 ppm.

The influent water contains typically 1 ppm of sodium (cation), traces of chlorides, alkalinity and
majorly dissolved silica (anion). The mixed bed unit contains both cation in H+ form and anion
resin (OH-) in mixed condition. When the influent water containing sodium (Cations in water)
comes in contact with the resins in Hydrogen form, Hydrogen ions are released in water in
exchange of sodium. Only trace amount of sodium does escape through. The influent water
containing small amount of chloride, alkalinity, silica (anions in water) comes in contact with the
anion resins in Hydroxyl (OH) form, the OH ions gets released in water in exchange of chloride,
Alkalinity and silica. A small quantity of silica slips through the anion exchange unit. Ion
Exchange reaction is a reversible one. At a predetermined time or output, (when all the H+ in
cation resin and OH- in anion resin is exhausted) the unit is regenerated with HCl and NaOH
respectively.

Aerobic Treatment

It is also called (incorrectly) an aerobic septic system, is a small scale sewage treatment system
similar to a septic tank system, but which uses an aerobic process for digestion rather than just
the anaerobic process used in septic systems. These systems are commonly found in rural areas
where public sewers are not available, and may be used for a single residence or for a small group
of homes.

Unlike the traditional septic system, the aerobic treatment system produces a high quality
secondary effluent, which can be sterilized and used for surface irrigation. This allows much
greater flexibility in the placement of the leach field, as well as cutting the required size of the
leach field by as much as half.

Gas Chlorination:

Gas Chlorination is the process of adding chlorine or chlorine compounds such as sodium
hypochlorite to water. This method is used to kill certain bacteria and other microbes in tap
water as chlorine is highly toxic. In particular, chlorination is used to prevent the spread
of waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid is the process of
adding chlorine or chlorine compounds such as sodium hypochlorite to water. This method is

of waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid

Nano Filtration:

It is a relatively recent membrane filtration process used most often with low total
dissolved solids water such as surface water and fresh groundwater, with the purpose of softening
(polyvalent cation removal) and removal of disinfection by-product precursors such as
natural organic matter and synthetic organic matter.Nano filtration is also becoming more widely
used in food processing applications such as dairy, for simultaneous concentration and partial
(monovalent ion) demineralization.

Filtration System:

It is any of various mechanical, physical or biological operations that separate solids from
fluids (liquids or gases) by adding a medium through which only the fluid can pass. The fluid that
passes through is called the filtrate. In physical filters oversize solids in the fluid are retained and

in biological filters particulates are trapped and ingested and metabolites are retained and
removed. However, the separation is not complete; solids will be contaminated with some fluid
and filtrate will contain fine. Filtration occurs both in nature and in engineered systems; there
are biological, geological, and industrial forms.

Chemical Treatment:

It is used to control Acids and alkalis can usually be neutralized under controlled
conditions. Neutralization frequently produces a precipitate that will require treatment as a solid
residue that may also be toxic. In some cases, gases may be evolved requiring treatment for the
gas stream. Some other forms of treatment are usually required following neutralization Waste
streams rich in hardness ions as from de-ionization processes can readily lose the hardness ions in
a buildup of precipitated calcium and magnesium salts. This precipitation process can cause
severe furring of pipes and can, in extreme cases, because the blockage of disposal pipes. A 1-
metre diameter industrial marine discharge pipe serving a major chemicals complex was blocked
by such salts in the 1970s. Treatment is by concentration of de-ionization waste waters and
disposal to landfill or by careful pH management of the released wastewater.

Micro Filtration:

It is a type of physical filtration process where a contaminated fluid is passed through a

special pore-sized membrane to separate microorganisms and suspended particles from
process liquid. It is commonly used in conjunction with various other separation processes such
as ultra filtration and reverse osmosis to provide a product stream which is free of
undesired contaminants.

UV Technology:

It is very effective at inactivating cysts, in low turbidity water. UV light's disinfection

effectiveness decreases as turbidity increases, a result of the absorption, scattering, and shadowing
caused by the suspended solids. The main disadvantage to the use of UV radiation is that, like
ozone treatment, it leaves no residual disinfectant in the water; therefore, it is sometimes
necessary to add a residual disinfectant after the primary disinfection process. This is often done
through the addition of chloramines, discussed above as a primary disinfectant. When used in this
manner, chloramines provide an effective residual disinfectant with very few of the negative
effects of chlorination. Over 2 million people in 28 developing countries use Solar Disinfection
for daily drinking water treatment.
