SUMMER INTERNSHIP
May ’04 – Jul ’04: Essar Constructions Limited, Hazira, Gujarat, India
• Worked with a team of 50 engineers designated to complete the work of Essar
Steel’s expansion projects (oxygen plant, cold rolling mill, power plant, shear line
bay).
• Did a time estimate for the erection of the electrical control room of the cold
rolling mill as a part of planning.
• Recommended changes for the quality of steel reinforcements used.
• Reported discrepancy in the work of subcontractors which led to the revision of
their payments.

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
• Jul ’04 – May ’05: Parking Lot Management inside IITD campus under the
guidance of Dr. Kalaga Ramachandra Rao, IIT Delhi. Involves extensive study of
the existing system and proposing a new system.
• Jul ’04 – Nov ’04: Forecasting Models: Airports under the guidance of Dr.
Kalaga Ramachandra Rao, IIT Delhi. Involves research into various forecasting
models used in developed and developing countries. Understanding the
mathematical models adopted, factors analyzed, and parameters taken into
consideration.
• May ’02 – Apr ’03: Investigation of Chaos in Air Pollutant Transport under
the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Khosa, IIT Delhi. The observations show non – random
and non – periodic behavior which is characteristic of all chaotic systems. The
findings thus conclusively confirm the presence of chaos in transport process in
air.

KEY POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILTY AND AWARDS


• Apr ’04 – May ’05: Elected member, Student Affairs Council – the highest
decision making body of IITD responsible for overall policy formation, co-
ordination of student activities on campus.
• Aug ’03: Activity Head, Rendezvous 2003, infrastructure. Led a team of 10
people in arranging for and coordinating all the basic facilities and capital
equipment for the cultural festival, the largest in north India.
• Feb ’03: Activity Head, Tryst 2003, administration. Led a team of 15 people in
organizing the biggest ever technical festival of IITD (in terms of sponsorship,
number of participants and events).
• Apr ’04: awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Photography and
Hobbies’ Society, IITD
• May ’02 – Apr ’03: represented Karakoram House at the Photography and
Hobbies’ Society. Awarded the Best Representative of the society for
organizing various events and workshops.
• Apr ’03: awarded the prestigious House Master’s Award for Significant
Contribution to Hostel Life.
• Apr ’02: awarded the Most Enthusiastic Fresher Award.

INTERESTS
Of late I have been interested in Transactional Analysis. It is a tool within a
language which enables us to make the most of all our communications and
therefore create, develop, and maintain better relationships. It has applications in
organizational and personal development, encompassing communications and
management.
