How to read a Newspaper for Competitive Exams

Order:
1- First page (have a glimpse at the first page)
2- Editorial (which is generally in the middle of newspaper).
3- Column (start reading opinions)
4- Economy
5- International (Which is normally a second last page)
6- National (METRO page is based on city and local news)

Note:

- Give 2-3 hours reading newspaper.


- Careful reading (noticing sentence structure, and content)
- Start remembering idioms. DAWN newspaper is best for idioms as they say that, an
expression is good when it is idiomatic.
- Search for opinions related to the concerned subject you took.
- On Friday there is an opinion related to Islamiat. Read that.
- After reading Editorial/opinions note meaning of words on a page/register and start
reproducing your opinion in 15 to 20 sentences on that. By doing so will cover your
three subjects i.e. Essay, Current affairs, Pakistan affairs, some optional subjects, and
will improve your writing skills and Vocabulary also.
- For review check that reproduce material from professor etc.
