Codes and Rules for Coding - Report 2

Below you will see the codes required for the second report.

The codes follow closely the coping strategies discussed in the Lecture. With each category of
coping, you need to decide if you think it is being used adaptively (positively) or maladaptively
(negatively).

It is important to consider the role of humour here, in that, some people may be showing a
maladaptive coping strategy as a joke, as satire, to really highlight the true way they are coping or
people should cope. This is your interpretation, there is no right or wrong answer.

As you read more, you will understand how to best identify the type of coping being used. It is
recommended that you read before you begin your analysis.
