ACTIVITY PLAN IN KINDERGARTEN

(COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING)

TOPIC: AT THE MARKET


PURPOSE: Identify places in the community (MARKET)
AIM: Students will learn how to use the vocabulary in the unit to perform a role-play at
the market.
VOCABULARY:

 Fresh fish
 Fresh meat
 Fresh vegetables
 Rice
 Vendor
 costumer

PROCEDURE:
Divide the group in teams, depending on how large the group is. Team of 3
students. One student will be the fresh fish, the other will be the vendor and the
customer.

Each team will be ask to role-play a particular scene in the market. Vendor-
customer conversation should also be noted. They must be creative. They may
use materials found in the classroom to make their presentation more interesting.

POINTS TO ASSESS IN ROLE-PLAY:


1. Decoration/ props
2. Materials used usually seen in the market
3. How the students begin their presentation
4. How the conversation during the buying and selling took place
5. Closure: How the vendor and costumer closes a deal.
In this simple activity, students are being taught to be competent in an everyday activity
they can encounter in their lives, going to the market, asking the price of the
commodities and how they carry out the activity.
