 Applying appropriate Boundary conditions.

3.Linear Dynamics analysis.
 Java Cab Modal Optimization.

4.Heat Transfer analysis.


 Heat Transfer analysis of a HP Spool.

Abstract:
 Quarter sector of shaft was taken in to consideration for the analysis.
 Sector of a Spool was meshed with hexahedral elements in Hyper mesh.
 Thermal Material data(K,C) was assigned.
 Various surfaces and sets were created across the spool.
 Thermal Loads(Surface Heat flux) were applied across various surfaces as per the data.
 Thermal Interactions(Convective film coefficients) were defined using surfaces.
 Thermal Boundary conditions(Temperatures) were applied as per the data using sets.
 Running a Heat transfer analysis using Abaqus/Standard.
 Post processing the results, Plotting the temperature and Heat flux distributions across the
spool.
 Submission of report to the client.
5.Multiphysics Analysis.
 Linear Static analysis of Rear shaft power turbine.

Abstract:
 Modelling of part using Hexahedral Elements using Hyper mesh as per specified Quality

 Assigning Thermal material to the Model.
 Applying Thermal Loads(Heat Fluxes) across the region across the shaft.
 Applying Thermal convective film coefficients across the shaft.
 Applying Thermal Boundary conditions(Temperatures) across the shaft.

 Post processing the result to check the temperature distribution across the part.

 Applying structural Material Data(E,V,Rho,Alpha) to the model.
 Applying structural loads like centrifugal loading, torque loading to the shaft.

 Reading the Thermal result into the structural Analysis.
 Running the Coupled field analysis using Ansys classic.
 Post processing the Vonmises stress distribution across the shafts.
 Calculating the strength of the shaft theoretically using above result.
 Conclusion, shaft was found to 72% more durable than the required limits.
