The new 444-3421 Screen As (1) is longer than the original screen assembly and covers more of the cab
window in front of the operator. The new screen assembly blocks a larger percentage of light than the factory
installed screen assembly. The new screen assembly installs with four 9X-2045 Screws and is an easy, direct
field replacement.

The factory installed screen assembly (2) is a made from a mesh material. At times, the mesh material allows
more light to pass through the screen assembly than is desirable.

The new screen assembly is adaptable to all machines within the above listed serial numbers. The new screen
assembly and the screws are now available at the parts department of your local Cat©! dealership.

Use the following information to install the new 444-3421 Screen As (1).

1. Use a Torx T30 tool to remove the four screws that secure the former screen assembly to the cab
mounting brackets. The mounting brackets are in the front head liner, corner of the cab.

2. If possible, reuse the four 9X-2045 Screws removed during the disassembly procedure to install screen
assembly (1). Install the screen assembly to the same mounting attachment points in the cab through

the screen assembly mounting brackets. If needed, use the four new 9X-2045 Screws to install the
screen assembly. Before installation, apply Loctite 243 Red thread locker to the threads of the screws.

3. Torque the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

4. Pull down the screen, and retract the screen to check for clearances.
