COVID-19 (Busting Myths)

The Novel Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, a new strain of a virus from which the
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrom (MERS)
are also a strain. The origin of the virus is unknown and countless lives are lost due to
misinformation. The virus is deadly but the phony information being spread worldwide about this
disease can prove to be even deadlier.
As far as we have been informed, the Novel Coronavirus’ first known infection came
from Wuhan, China. And a couple of researches were done due to the emergence of the news
of a new virus. The said researches may or may not have stemmed from conspiracy theories or
pure creative imagination, but there is a common ground to all of these, there is so much that is
unknown from these incidents and there are countless lies out there which the internet has
perpetrated verifying them are important.
There is a growing number of followers of a certain conspiracy theory, that it was China
who released COVID-19 to the world. The theory states that the real game plan is to reset the
global economy while China is already at the recovery stage. This theory is also backed up by
research stating that the COVID-19 virus was genetically engineered in a lab. But the genetic
engineering theory was completely shot down by a statement on a renowned science website
that the COVID-19 virus is a product of natural evolution. Which gives us our first truth about
COVID-19. IT IS NOT GENETICALLY ENGINEERED.
The above-mentioned truth gave light to new theories, the most popular of which is that
the COVID-19 came from bats eaten by people from Wuhan. The same science website stated
that since SARS and MERS are corona strains which are directly linked to bats the COVID-19
virus might have come from bats as well, HOWEVER, there is no documented case of a direct
bat-to-human transmission which highly suggest that there might have been an intermediate
host between bats and humans. The science website went on saying that the virus came from a
host animal as a non-pathogenic virus that evolved to a pathogen upon infecting a human being
as is being spread by humans knowingly or unknowingly. Truth #2: COVID-19 MAY HAVE
COME FROM BATS BUT NOT DIRECTLY.
Many said research claims that they have found simple cures like herbs and fruits which
are allegedly able to fight COVID-19 cases. These researches also have claimed that there are
remedies that can be found at home, DIY immunity procedures which can make sure they are
safe against the virus. World Health Organization’s website states truth #3: TO DATE THERE IS
NO SPECIFIC MEDICINE OR VACCINE TO FIGHT COVID-19. ALL FRUITS AND
VEGETABLE DOES IS BOOST THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AND NOTHING ELSE.
Then what about those fraudulent claims of herbal medicine or certain countermeasures.
The WHO continues to state that the best defense against COVID-19 is distance and
disinfection. All other claims are fraudulent especially if they affect the market of a specific
product or drive internet traffic towards people who use this kind of opportunity to make a
sudden rise to fame.
