Teacher’s need to guide their students

I believe that children need a strong academic guide. Therefore, it is my role as a teacher to
lead students toward an education that will benefit them in the future. I am willing to work
hard and show my commitment towards improving my teaching practice because this
ensures that I am providing the best education possible. My goal as a teacher is to help
students achieve their best results. I can achieve this goal by being a positive role model to
my students. I want to nurture my students because it will inspire them to always do their
best.

2. Students must be taught practical skills in the classroom

Research has shown that some teachers are not teaching enough practical skills. This comes
as a surprise to me because practical skills are needed in everyday life. I want to become a
successful Business Studies and Commerce teacher. Nonetheless, the purpose of teaching
my subject is to enhance the personal and social capabilities of students. For example, I am
going to ensure that I teach abstract concepts in a concrete way. For example, I will allow
students to play a shopping game when learning about consumer decisions in Commerce.
This enables students to learn useful skills required in the later stages of life.

3. Students learn best through technology

I want to incorporate as much ICT as possible in my lessons because I am adamant that this
will assist with student engagement. Students will not learn anything if they are not
engaged. Thus, the use of ICT and digital software should stimulate their appetite for
learning. I will dedicate the time and effort to learn about new technology so that I can
create a learning environment that is fun but also productive. I will also encourage students
to be proactive and allow them to give suggestions. It is vital to give students a voice
because their education should lead them towards a brighter future.
