About Me
Hello! I’m Mrs. Malfeld. I teach biology
and biomedical science at Discovery
Canyon High School. I absolutely being
a part of the Discovery Canyon community
and am super excited to be your teacher!

My professional background
After graduating from Air Academy
High School (yes, I’m a proud D20
grad!) I attended the University of
Colorado at Boulder, where I obtained
a degree in Biology. Not long after I
graduated from CU, I decided I wanted
to be a Registered Nurse. So I pursued it! I attended
Regis University in Denver and received my
bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I worked at Memorial
Hospital of Colorado Springs for over 7 years before
staying home with my four young children for a
while. Eventually, I made the decision to follow my
heart and become a high school science teacher! It’s
the BEST job EVER and I am thankful every single day
to be a part of Discovery Canyon High School! GO
THUNDER! I am currently working on my Master of
Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in Science
Education at the University of Colorado at Colorado
Springs (UCCS).
