The Importance of Education

When I was a kid, I just don't know why I go to school. I just listen and

memorize our lessons because our teacher told us to do so. I just don't really care what

is the meaning of education. Until when I got to high school and puberty hits me and

my mind became more matured compared before. My brain starts to think more

rationally and I learned to write and give opinions because of the thousands essays that

our teacher gave us and one of the common topics is about education.

As time goes by, I started to realized that this word "education" is a complex

thing. I realized how important it is. The truth is by just looking at our surroundings you

could say that we must make ourselves educated. While writing this paper, I look at the

things near me and I saw may smartphone. Behind this gadget are educated people

and see how they make communication easier. Education also makes us to be aware on

our surroundings and do what is right. We could also achieve a higher paying job when

we grew up educated. Another thing is, you couldn't only find education in school. You

could find it anywhere by just experience or committing mistakes. We learn through

these and decide to don't do it again. When I made mistakes I try my best to prevent it

from happening again and share the lesson to someone.

It's hard to imagine a world without educated people. Imagine you don't know

what food you eat, no engineer to plan your house, no doctor to treat illness, no

technology to make our lives easier. I can now see how the word education makes our

life better. For me, education is the catalyst of change and it also teaches to seek for

answers that could be later helpful. Realizing the true meaning of education and why is

important makes me more motivated to study and continue to make change.
