WEEKLY DIARY (WEEK 1)

“Experience is the best way of Learning”
Republic of the Philippines 46
INTER- DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Region 02 (Cagayan Valley)
As our work immersion begins,
Schools confusion
Division envelops into my system. My mind asked ‘Why
of Isabela
Echague national high school
do we need to do this?’ ‘Why do we need to immerse ourselves into different offices?’. And

so, when we finally step on to the assigned office for us, a realization strikes me. We- as a

work immersion student are here today for us to experience the career that we might be

chosen in the near future, we are here today to promote the learning within our minds and

souls to give improvement to the path that we may proceed in.

Our seniors never stop from lecturing us, from the very beginning they invest their full

attention just to give us the right knowledge that we need, from the very basic knowledge

about first aiding up to the intensive knowledge concerned with the rescuing a

victim/patient. They were always attentive about our inquiries. They were able to give us

the chance to familiarize the things inside the ambulance car and how to operate that

various things.

On the first week of our work immersion, I might say that really, various experiences are

the best way of learning, simply because in the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction

Management Office where we are assigned to be an immersion student, we learned a lot

through experiencing. After the lectures and trainings conducted by our seniors, we were

able to apply it in reality and execute our learning in a productive way. I was grateful for

our industry supervisor, Sir Christopher T. Palma, for he was able to gave us his support

for us work immersion students. He gave us the opportunity to come along the runs headed

by the assigned team leader of every teams-Team Bravo, Charlie, and Alpha.

WEEKLY DIARY (WEEK 2)

Republic of the Philippines 47
INTER- DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Region 02 (Cagayan Valley)
Schools Division “United as one”
of Isabela
Echague national high school
We came in as an individual. We came in concerned with only on our own self. We step in

looking forward on the last day of our work immersion. We step in thinking of the day we

were able to finish this 80 hours within the office.

Honestly, I am only concerned with myself, but these two weeks being a work immersion

student, it gives me a fulfilling emotion- not only in terms of being a student but also being

one of the team within the office. One of my seniors says that ‘See! You came into this

office not involving yourselves with your co-immersion student and now, you will go

without isolated with each other”. And yes, it is true, I and my fellow immersion students

at MDRRMO was united as one. Through our experiences inside the office, we gained

knowledge and learnings, and aside from that, we also gained friendship.

We were united because our senior taught us to be one. Just like in rescuing, everybody in

the team needs a connection- a systematic one, because indeed, it gives a high possibility to

rescue a victim/patient. On this last week, we-the work immersion students, gave us the

chance to work as a team. We were able to act as a junior rescuer on the Earthquake Drill

that has been conducted at the Municipality of Echague, and as for that, our seniors

congratulated us, for we worked as a team with unity and for we did a great job as junior

rescuer.

STUDENT’S REFLECTION

“Through”
Republic of the Philippines 48
INTER- DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Region 02 (Cagayan Valley)
Through every experiences that I’ve
Schools Division been acquired within that 80 hours being an
of Isabela
Echague national high school
immersion student at Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, it promotes

a lesson into my life. A lesson that I will continuously improve, develop and monitor, from

the path that I will take up to the future that I will make.

Me as a student, I am contented on sitting inside the class, listening and learning

throughout the discussion, but concealed from my knowledge, there is one thing we can

learn more things, and that is through experiencing. Experience will always be the best way

of learning because through this, it gives us the procession of execution of the basic

knowledge that we need to learn for our careers. And for us to truly say “I Know that”, we

must let ourselves touch things into our hands, let reality conspired our knowledge about

the things around us, and thus, we can now say “I can do it”.

Furthermore, through that learning, it gives me a succession of being united. From the

words “I can do it” it is now became “We can do it”. Within that 80 hours being with my

colleagues at the office, I can say that THROUGH EXPERIENCING, WE LEARN, AND

THROUGH LEARNING, WE UNITE, because we worked as one and we were able to

create a new path for our career as a team.
