WHAT IS WORK IMMERSION?

Work immersion trains student and strengthen their skills for their

work in the future. These programs strengthened by the insurance of the

DepEd Order No.40 this program aims to help develop life career and skills
and prepare learners decide regarding post-secondary education or

employment.

According to the Department of Education, this program is an 80

hours hands-on encounter which Senior High Student must experience to

open them to the genuine working environment setting and improved their

abilities learned in school. My 80 hours experience inside the shop is very

memorable it is because I got a lot of learning and experience on how to

conduct inside the shop. I do my immersion Monday to Friday and during my

immersion day our supervisor guide us to do our duty extraordinarily well. Our

teacher teaches me first to check the area to make sure that the area is safety

and there's no hazardous substances inside the shop and when the area are

finished to check then you are ready to start your work. In my 80 hours

experience I performed to make a plot. And also, we harvest the fruits and

crops with handled with extra care or shall we say Tender Loving Care. By

The help of work immersion, I know how to drive the hand tractor and to

manage it on my own.

ESSAY ON HOW TO CONDUCT ONESELF INSIDE THE COMPANY

How to conduct oneself is very important during work shop day. You

have to know what to do inside or outside the shop. There's have a lot of

things that I have to learn that will surely be useful not just for this coming

immersion but also to the next jobs that having in the near future. Work

immersion can be a little bit stressful for job seekers.

As a BOSCONIAN, I've noticed that when trainee has already in the

company the first move, they do is to have a prayer to ask for guidance and

protection, that is the best thing of habit of the

Bosconinans. Arriving on time is commitment on

this job, because it shown respect to your co-

workers especially to the owner of that company.

As what just like our training director said which

is Fr. Rex M. Carbilledo that school is different from work, no more

excuses/considerations. In short do not be late. You have also bring a positive

days because being negative is brings you to a bad attitude into work, it

reflect accomplishes nothing on you.

You have to focus your energy on the

positive ways every day.

Safety, when it comes in safety

a company as I observed is very strict

on it. Going inside the shop is also

have a dress to wear a trainee is have

to take the Personal Protected Equipment (PPE) including jacket, gloves,

mask, googles and long pants to make yourself always ready when you are

inside the shop. A trainee without PPE is not allowed to enter the inside or let

me say is not allowed to enter.

The next thing to do

is, you have to observed and

listen up. Just as you should

be willing to share your

knowledge with your co-

workers. If the trainee is

focus to listening, it contributes for you and for others. Do not make cause of

gossiping inside the shop because it taking you a poor knowledge. Keep your

temper in check during challenging situations. Follow through on your

responsibilities and your co-workers will view you as reliable. As long as you

conduct yourself with respect and confidence work immersion can be fun and

successful for you. Always remember to know the nature and culture of the

company your entering, and always show

a good impression to communicating with

your co-workers and also to the owner of

that company. Do not take a task that you

can't handle and don't be afraid to ask

relevant questions. Always keep in mind

that you are not just bringing your name,

rather you're bringing the name of your school. So, make sure you possess

formality, act according to your level. Pay attention to your office etiquette and

make sure you want to achieve and for your goals. And lastly, after work don't

leave the place immediately. A real Bosconinan is always take 5's to show a

good model to other as they followed you to have a great manner to get them.
Always wear your smile during and after the job. Even if how much tired you

are, it is always important to put a smile on your face to attract positivism.

Keep away from temptation that

will make you distracted

especially do not bring cellphone

when you are in duty. Always

focus on what you want to

achieve and for your goals.

I am so happy because I passed

our assessment which is NCII and I didn't expect that I am now officially an

NCII holder. I am now master of making the plot and to maintain the good

quality of your crops and specially to drive the hand tractor that I didn't learn in

my past days.

Over all, my experience at company was positive, I was very happy with the

number of things that I learned and experience in my 10 days of work

immersion with the company. I believe that Don Bosco Training Center-Mati

should keep this aspect of the IFT

course, as I does provide student with

experience over a short amount of time.

Also, it can be a very learning a lot more

than my expectations inside the shop

that we have conducting a work

immersion I thought I would be able to in

on time and my hand work paid off as

they offered me a job at the end of it.

MY PERSONAL GOALS IN WORK IMMERSION

My Personal Goal as a trainee is to have a better future someday, I am

going to build and gain knowledge because I want my personal

goal to be attained. Participate in any act of service as my way to be near at

my aimed goal in this training. Getting my personal goal is not easy to do

because I have a lot of stepping stones to meet in this goal. Also, its hard but I

have to do this for myself and for my family because they assume that I can

get this goal and sooner I’ll be the one to help them. I try my very best to have

a right attitude inside or outside the shop because it is crucial to the kind of

image created about one self and this for facts holds more importance of

one’s work place. Adopting the right attitude is a step towards personal

excellence which in return, it can help us to add value to everything we do.

During my work immersion day, it is a big challenge for me because I must

consider all the policies and procedure in a particular area. It is also a

challenge for me to meet their expectation as an IFT Student. I must bring all

ideas and skills I had. On my Job Training (OJT), I will push myself to work

better and because of that I learned to put dedication to my work.

As a BOSCONIAN, it is a privileged for me to be part of this immersion.

With the help of this project, it brings me to improve my skills, knowledge and

attitude and also to collaborates to the people surround me. Even if it is not

easy to achieve my goals but I need to survive hardships in order to achieve

success. I never forget this immersion because I have a lot of struggles and
difficulties that I’ve encountered before I received my awards in life because I

believed that before you received the success you will face first the trials and

challenges in life. I try my very best to do my duties extraordinarily well for this

good attitude that will determine as a real BOSCONIANS. Even though I can

encounter hardships I will still firm in order to reach fulfillment in the future. I

will always focus on my goal by completing my bridge towards my aimed

SUCCESS.

As a Grade 12 Students, I will do this job to make my family be proud

of me. That’s why I keep improving my skills about this training so that I can

keep being focus to be shifted to my self-improvement and to become the

best version of myself.

I positively want to learn on how to conduct oneself inside or outside

the shop so that I have my personal experience that intangible and gained

more knowledge. With the help of hands-on activities during work immersion, I

have learned the actual life that different than imagining it. In every time I’ve

taken my work immersion, I am also taken the goal I want to get especially

gained something crucial and valuable in my chosen profession for it chances

and my personal form of conduct and at the same time my own personal

identity.

Technical Vocational course to chooseThe training center was operationalized

in 1995 offering training courses in mechanical and automotive technologies.

The center is effective in its program because it is able to qualify the

graduates to address the skills requirements of the small industries in Mati

and the big ones in Davao. However, the distance of Mati from Davao is a

critical factor in the job placement of the trainees. With this, Don Bosco

addressed then situation by providing training programs that are not only

relevant to local needs but can likewise generate gainful local employment.

Hence, in 2003, the center opened the Agri-Mechanical and Integrated

WRITTEN REPORT ON ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

In my whole duration of work immersion program, we have a lot of

experience with my companions because it is my first time to encounter of this

kind of things that make us more motivated or to pursue my dreams especially

on our course in Integrated Farming Technology (IFT). As what department of

education (DepEd) under K-12 program they mandate all grade 12 students in

tech voc strand or technical vocational strand tp go to any shops in order to

observe and learn something about our related to our course. During our work

immersion program, it is not easy observing their work while learning and also

taking down note of what we see or observed. But before that I have

expectation, I want to know what could be my work soon if I will be on the

company or shop. As a agriculture student, I experienced on how to clean

cages, feed swine and chicken, clean waterer of chicken, perform 5's,

disinfect entire poultry, cow, and goatery house, and it is not easy to do cow

grazing and I've troubled when I collect manure. And in field I challenged to

myself to make plot and apply fertilizer, and planting and watering plant it is

the easiest activity for me.

Being a Bosconian, it is very important for me to undergo work immersion

to improve my skills and attitude of working inside the company as well. It

gives me motivation to face the challenges in an actual world. I am confident

in dealing things about the work because I gradually getting the right skills and

attitude needed by constantly doing my responsibilities and working with other

people in the shop/workplace. The benefits of immersion is gaining more

knowledge and have more experience in working that is related to my

qualification. The immersion is making me better in the work shop. And also

develop my skills about agriculture, there are manny ways so I can absorb

when I undergo work immersion like ways of how the shop is being manage.

This is also helpful to me because this is helping me to be a good employee

someday.
