1. What is Work Immersion?

Work immersion enables learners to become familiar with the workplace, simulate

work, and apply their competencies in authentic work environments. Further strengthened by

the issuance of the DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017, the program aims to help develop life and

career skills and prepare learners to decide regarding post-secondary education or employment.

It also refers to the part of the SHS Curriculum consisting of 80 hours of hands-on experience

or work simulation which the Grades 11 and 12 students will undergo to expose them to the

actual workplace setting and to enrich the competencies provided by the school under the

supervision of the School Head and the designated personnel of the partner.

immersion program.

Part 2. The Workplace

1. Company Profile

Zeal Text Trading has been established as a Cell phone and Gadget Store in Bacolod

City. Our traditional business model is based on the Camera and Cell phone repair shops

in Bacolod. Based on the decision of the company to diversify our properties we have

now established this store. The revenues of our company are expected to be nearly

P500,000 per month depending on the variables that are factored and official store in

the future to deal with some techy camera, phones and gadgets.

1. Daily Accomplishment Report

The following are the activities that are done during the whole work immersion period

at Zeal Text Trading.

WEEK 1 – I and my fellow trainees were assigned to encode all of the information that is

written on Zeal Text’s official receipts into an accounting application called ‘Quickbooks’.

Those including the products bought, its quantity and price, the date and other personal

information of the client(s). We were also tasked to record all of the lay-aways and installment

plans of the business.

WEEK 2 – I and my fellow trainees were assigned to encode all of the information that is

written on Zeal Text’s official receipts into an accounting application called ‘Quickbooks’.

Those including the products bought, its quantity and price, the date and other personal

2. Work Immersion Highlights

We are tasked to do an encoding of the basic business transactions of Zeal Text

Trading such as sales, lay-aways, and installment plans and report to our supervisors

about the current financial status of the firm. We recorded all the information into an

application called Quickbooks which serves as an organized and easier way to record

all transactions of an entity. It is more convenient especially to a bookkeeper and an

accountant for recording and analysis of data. Here are a few photos that are

documented on the job training.

Part 5. Reflection

1. Problems Encountered

For me I don’t have any problems encountered during my work immersion in

their company, because all we did there was just having fun and bonding together.

2. Suggestions and Recommendations

As one of the student who experienced working at Zeal Text Trading and with

its employees, I can personally say that the company is beyond blessed because they

are a God-centered organization. They can use their employees more efficiently and

more effectively, which is a win situation for the company itself.

I recommend the company to seek for other accounting applications besides

Quickbooks. The reason behind this is because Quickbooks app debugs most of the

time and it consumes a long period of time for working. This might cause a problem in

the future for the company, so I recommend to have a backup application or a second

option.

I am writing in reply to the classified ad you posted seeking to fill the position
of Accountant at Zeal Text Trading.

Having earned my Master's degree in Accountancy from University of St. La

Salle, I understand the importance for reliability in all financial information.

Prior to my graduate studies, during my career as an accounting clerk, I was

elected employee of the month. In this capacity, I was able to be an effective financial
assistant to companies who were experiencing financial problems which threatened
their future in the industry. I particularly enjoyed working with more experienced
accountants who were seeking a new one who would be as reliable as them and found
new ways to further improve myself in this industry.

I believe that both my educational background in Accountancy and my work-

related duties of being a clerk and assistant qualifies me for consideration for the
position of Financial Accountant. I look forward to discussing how my skills can be of
