• Guest / Headline Entertainer (a complete and strong 40-50
minutes self-contained show catering to a wide diversity of
ages required) - Comedy Variety, Magicians / Illusionists,
Jugglers, Specialty Acts, Variety Entertainers, Hypnotists,
Mentalists, Impressionists, Ventriloquists, Musical Acts,
Vocal Headliners, Vocal Impressionists, Instrumentalists .
Salary range: $4000-18000 U.S. per month, depending on
the cruise line and negotiation.

• Lounge Performer (entertain in certain locations on board: piano


bar, night club etc. providing their own music and materials) -
solid experience and ability to play a wide diversity of
musical styles required. Fluent English Language skills
required. Salary range: $2500-4800 U.S. per month.

• Cruise Director (The cruise director is in charge of all on-board


entertainment, creates, coordinates, and implements all the
daily activities, acting master of ceremonies at social
activities and evening shows). Professional entertainment
background preferred or 2-5 years on board working your
way up from an entry-level cruise staff position. Public
speaking, delegate responsibilities and strong organizational
abilities required. Fluent English Language skills required.
Salary range: $3800-7500 U.S. per month, depending on the
cruise line.

• Production Show Singer / Lead Vocalist (main production


shows, cabarets) - male and female experienced/advanced
singers with the ability to sing Broadway to pop/rock styles.
Must be able to move well. Salary range: $2400-3800 U.S. per
month, depending on the cruise line.

• Production Show Dancer (main production shows, cabarets) -


advanced male and female dancers with strong technique in
jazz, ballet and tap. Salary range: $1800-2900 U.S. per
month (cast members to lead performers), depending on the
cruise line.

• Musician:

◦ Show Band / Orchestra Musician - piano,


saxophone/reeds, trumpet, trombone, bass, guitar,
drums - extensive professional experience, excellent
sight-reading, ability to work as a section player
required. Salary range: $1800-2700 U.S. per month,
depending on the cruise line.

◦ Lounge Groups (2 to 6 piece bands) - solid performance


experience required. Fair English Language skills
required. Salary range: $1600-2400 U.S. per month,
depending on the cruise line.


◦ Cocktail Pianist - must be able to perform ambient music
with a polished, classy type of sound. Wide repertoire
range-from Bach to Gershwin plus Broadway
favourites, American standards and popular film music.
Must have a professional attitude and appropriate
etiquette. In addition to playing ambient music must be
able to perform recitals once or twice weekly and
accompany wedding ceremonies and receptions. Fair
English Language skills required. Salary range: $1600-
2400 U.S. per month, depending on the cruise line.

◦ Classical Trio / String Quartet - the group must be able to


perform ambient music with a polished, classy type of
sound. Wide repertoire range-from Baroque and
Classical pieces to Gershwin plus Broadway favourites,
American standards and popular film music. Members
must have a professional attitude and appropriate
etiquette. In addition to playing ambient music the
group must be able to perform recitals once or twice
weekly and accompany wedding ceremonies and
receptions. Fair English Language skills required.
Salary range: $1600-2400 U.S. per month per person,
depending on the cruise line.

◦ Piano Bar Entertainer - must be also a vocalist and be able


to perform "sing-alongs". Interaction with guests is a
vital part of the performance. Wide range repertoire list
required. Must have a professional attitude and
appropriate etiquette. Excellent English Language skills
required. Salary range: $2300-3500 U.S. per month,
depending on the cruise line and gratuities.

◦ High Tech / Sequenced Duos - the group must be


proficient in both sequencing and acoustic instruments
with strong lead vocals. The repertoire list should cover
a wide range of styles-American standards, ballroom
dancing material, disco, 50’s to present favourites.
Salary range: $1600-2400 U.S. per month, per person,

◦ Calypso / Island Band (2 to 4 piece bands) - these types of
groups are hired year-round on ships cruising the
Caribbean. Must feature the steel pan and be well-
versed in all styles of Caribbean music. Salary range:
$1400-1800 U.S. per month, per person, depending on
the cruise line.

◦ Strolling Strings (2 to 4 piece group) - Mobility is a vital part


of the performance-strolling around tables in the main
dining room of the ship. Must have a wide range of
international favourites in the repertoire list and accept
guest's requests. Salary range: $1400-2200 U.S. per
month, per person, depending on the cruise line and
gratuities.

• Stage / Production Manager (responsible for running the


production shows and managing the technical staff) -
extensive technical and practical education and /or hands-on
experience required. Salary range: $2200-3100 U.S. per
month, depending on the cruise line.

• Assistant Stage / Production Manager (assisting in running the


production shows and any activities that require technical
assistance) - extensive technical and practical education and
/or hands-on experience required. Salary range: $1700-2600
U.S. per month, depending on the cruise line. Possibilities
for promotion to Production Manager.

• Sound & Light Technician / Stage Staff (assisting in running the


production shows and any activities that require technical
assistance) - technical and practical education and /or
hands-on experience required. Salary range: $1600-1900
U.S. per month, depending on the cruise line. Possibilities
for promotion to Assistant Production Manager.
• Cruise Staff (organizing passengers activities-golf, quizzes,
bingo etc.) - some experience preferred. Fluent English
Language skills required. Salary range: $1800-2100 U.S. per
month, depending on the cruise line. Possibilities for
promotion to Assistant Cruise Director.

• Disc Jockey / DJ (should have a diverse music foundation to


span the generations of the passengers) - hotel, resort or
night club experience preferred. Fluent English Language
skills required. Salary range: $1700-2700 U.S. per month,

dancers should include in their DVD/VHS two musical selections:
one up-tempo and one ballad. Lead Female Vocalist - females
5'6"-5'9" in height, with dress sizes of 4-10. Must have dance
ability for set choreography. Legit soprano range: E-3 to F-4; Belt
range: A-2 to C-4. Age range: 23-40. Please submit a DVD/VHS
showcasing the stated registers, along with a traditional musical
theatre (or opera) piece in your head voice and a big Broadway-
style belt. We also need to see movement on your video. Lead
Male Vocalist - males 5'10"-6'4", with jacket sizes of 40R-42L.
Must have movement ability for set choreography. Tenor and
baritone range: F-1 to C-3; occasional G-3. Age range: 25-40.
Please submit a DVD/VHS showcasing a big baritone voice. We
are looking for legitimate musical theatre voices that are able to
sing several styles of music, including opera, musical theatre, '40s
jazz, and '50s rock and roll. Please submit a big ballad and an up-

Music Department Bandmaster First and foremost the Band


Master must be an excellent musician who performs in one of the
musical ensemble onboard ship. As bandmaster one is in charge
of the entire music department, acting as a liaison between the
Cruise Director and each musician within the department. The
bandmaster takes an active role in the scheduling of musical
activities throughout the course of the cruise. It is the
bandmaster's responsibility to circulate the appropriate paperwork
and maintains direct contact with the home office at all times.
Must have an outgoing personality and must be well
organized. Showband Musicians - Piano, Bass, Drums,
Trumpet, Trombone, Reeds, Guitar. Must be EXCELLENT sight
readers. Showband members will be asked to perform for the
Captain's Welcome Party as well as several dance sets
throughout the course of the voyage. Each member must be well
versed in all styles of music from Latin to Big Band, from
Dixieland to Pop. The leader of the Showband will be asked to
have his or her own "dance book" as well as run rehearsals for
Cabaret entertainers. Piano Bar Entertainer Solo entertainer.
Responsible for all musical selections for the venue in which you
play. The Piano Bar Entertainer will be asked to incorporate
vocals into his or her act. The Piano Bar Entertainer will also be
asked to perform "sing-a-longs". Interaction with guests is a
must. Intermissionist The intermission piano player will be
asked to perform solo piano sets throughout the course of the
voyage. Although vocals are not a must, it would be a valuable
asset to the overall musical experience. This piano player will be
asked to perform specialty sets ranging from, but not exclusive to,
The Gershwin Song Book, Billie Joel, Elton John, The Music of
Scott Joplin and perhaps a Tribute to the Music of Ellington.
Should be well versed in all styles of music as well as having a
very large repertoire. Night Club Band Can be as few as two
and as many as a seven-piece band. Will be asked to perform a
variety of musical styles from 50's through the present. May be
asked to cover special requests from our guests and vocals are a
must. Jazz Trio Piano, Bass & Drums Will be asked to
perform "dance music" in a trio setting. This acoustic group will be

handle and understand VARIED STYLES OF SINGING.

At least 2 varied and contrasting selections of each: Broadway.


For example: Oklahoma & Hairspray

Pop. For example: 50's & Elton John

Classical or Opera (if this is appropriate to your training). For


example Josh Groban & Verdi / Sarah Brightman & Mozart

It is not necessary to sing the entire song but do display the


money notes. Be sure I can hear your range from top to bottom.
When possible, use actual show clips, which will help me,
determine your performance ability.

PGT Entertainment produces shows that vary in style (broadway,


pop, opera, swing). When choosing and performing material,
please be sure to display as much appropriate style in each song
as you can.

All singers are actual Leads and Ensemble singers. If possible,


please include a selection that shows SATB, trio, and/or duet
styles.

All of our singers must move well or in some cases dance. It is


helpful to see you your skill level. Actual show clips would be very
beneficial.

DANCERS

Please emphasize Jazz (include Swing & Tap) and Ballet. Please
use as little hip-hop as possible. Please include any
demonstration of your technique turns, leaps, Russians, splits,
and extension. Any acrobatics or specialties are important to
include. Please wear dance clothing that shows your body in the
most flattering way. No black leggings, if possible. All dancers
will do some partnering which will include lifts. If your tape
includes show clips with others onstage, please include a note
identifying where you are on the stage.

An American company, based in Florida, which presents classy


productions for up-market cruise lines, notably Regent Seven
Seas, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Costa
Cruises. Cast units vary in size from four to 14, always with a
vocal quartet at its core. For that reason the company is always
looking for singers who can move well, dancers who can also sing
and dancers who do not sing. Casts assemble in Cocoa, Florida
