ABSTRACT

IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE OF EARLY AGE CHILDREN ON SENSITIVE BODY PARTS AS

ONE OF THE WAYS TO PREVENT SEXUAL PREVENTION OF CHILDREN
BY
ROSALINA

The high rate of sexual abuse that occurs to children as reported by the mass media is enough to surprise
the public. Even this phenomenon of sexual violence is still an iceberg because children who are victims
are afraid to report.
To solve this problem, Ida Bhagawan (2017) conducted a library research using snowball techniques. So
that it can be a reference for parents and practitioners such as law enforcement and NGOs in providing
assistance in dealing with the problem of violence and child abuse.
The results of the study showed that the root causes of violence and sexual abuse of children included
economic, social, cultural and political problems. And the forms of violence and sexual harassment are as
varied as physical violence, economic violence which commonly occurs is the coercion of children to
beg, to the case of rape of children.
Many parents are still reluctant to talk about sensitive body parts to children. Though children need to
know exactly how to behave when facing physical contact that leads to sexual harassment. When children
have experienced violence and sexual abuse, parents have an important role to motivate children so that
children rise up and do not feel worthless. Give them protection so that they still feel safe when they are
around their parents.
Things that can be taught to children from an early age can be in the form of: 1. Informing children about
the names of body parts by using proper names, especially for intimate body parts that are often the object
of violence and sexual abuse, 2. Inform the child that no one is has the right to force the child to allow
him to touch and take pictures of the child's body parts, especially in private parts, 3. Tell the child that
whatever people tell the child about keeping their actions against the child's body is not a good thing,
