REFRACTIVE INDEX CONTROL

Transparent toothpastes are generally produced in the RI range from 1.44 to 1.46. SORBOSIL dental silicas are ideally
suited to these products, having high transmission across a range of RI values. The formulator has flexibility to increase the
water content of the toothpaste while maintaining good clarity. The graph also illustrates the thickening silica SORBOSIL
TC15 which can be utilised in high clarity pastes over the entire formulation range.
