1968. It does require a membership, but you can get limited access to the website without one.

EconStor offers more than 128,000 open access documents in the field of economics and allows you to

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has a collection of information intended to educate
investors on the conditions of the stock market. The resource is called EDGAR, and it provides access to
more than 21 million findings, including full texts of filings published in the past four years.

Boasting its status as "the largest bibliographic database dedicated to economics and available freely
on the Internet," IDEAS indexes over 2.2 million items, more than 2 million of which can be freely
downloaded.

Although primarily a job-search tool, this site also allows you to search for recent articles by subject.
Not only can you do your research here, but you can also sign up and customize a newsfeed that will
deliver you articles of interest.

The National Bureau of Economic Research has compiled tons of research into an easy-to-use,
searchable website. The research is conducted by over 1,400 economics university professors.

than 1.2 million research pieces.

Maintained by the International Institute of Social History, Amsterdam, this library offers historians
excellent content for learning about economics, business, and more.
An initiative of the Historical Centre Overijssel, Archivenet makes it easy to find Dutch archives and
more.

executive, and judicial branches of the U.S. government. Here you can browse more than 500,000

As the center of intelligence, the CIA has certainly done its job with The World Factbook, offering
information on major reference information around the world. History, people, government, economy,
and more are all covered in this online publication. It's a great resource for finding facts about every
country in the world, including information about countries' history, geography, transportation, and
more.

The U.S. Library of Congress Online Catalog provides access to hundreds of documents in various
subjects, including newspapers, audio files, and government documents. In this incredible library, you’ll

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) gathers information from throughout the U.S. to
help you cite documents such as bills and statutes, from the legislatures of all 50 U.S. states, DC, and
the Territories.

The British Library allows you to view digital galleries and online collections. It also allows you to search
and request various books, publications, and journals to complete your research.

authoritative resources in just about any subject, without all of the mess of sponsored links and
commercial results.

The Virtual Learning Resources Center has created a custom Google search, featuring only the best of
academic information websites. This search is curated by teachers and library professionals around the
world to share great resources for academic projects.

Using expert-level knowledge, this search engine doesn’t just find links; it answers questions, does
analysis, and generates reports.
This anthropological online search includes both general search of 4,000 periodicals held in The British
Museum Anthropology Library as well as Royal Anthropological Institute films.
Through this database, you can get access to anthropology reviews, look up publishers, and find
resources available for review.

Search Artcyclopedia to find everything there is to know about fine art, with 160,000 links, 9,000 artists
listed, and 2,900 art sites indexed. This should be a go-to resource for art majors. You can search for
information by artist, artwork, or location. It will then lead you to relevant articles from museums,
newspapers, and other scholarly sources.

Check out this searchable archive to find extensive psychology and brain science articles.

University of Houston’s Digital History database offers a wealth of links to textbook, primary sources,
and educational materials in digital history. The database has multimedia, an interactive timeline, active
learning, and resources for teachers. It allows you to browse newspaper articles, journals, and general
sources for content related to American history.

ERIC, of the Institution of Education Sciences, allows you to search by topics related to education. Links
lead to other sites, where you may have to purchase information, but you can search for full-text
articles only.

The Encyclopedia of Psychology links to various resources sorted by subject. You can search by career,
environment behavior relationships, organizations, paradigms and theories, people and history,
publications, resources, and underlying reductionist machinery.

Search the languages of the world with Ethnologue, offering an encyclopedic reference of all the
world’s known living languages. You’ll also be able to find more than 28,000 citations in the
Ethnologue’s language research bibliography.

Fold3 allows people to search U.S. military records. Though you must pay to do a thorough search of
your own ancestry, you can access a fraction of their records to find general info.
JURN is a search engine that provides you with links to over 4,000 free scholarly websites, e-journals in
the arts and humanities and articles that are all available for free.
Lexis provides a lot of reliably sourced content about law. Some resources can be accessed for free, but
for other resources, you must purchase a membership or pay for each piece of content individually.

Use the history guide from the Library of Anglo-American Culture and History for a subject catalog of
recommended websites for historians, with about 11,000 to choose from.

The Literary Encyclopedia provides tons of resources on literature, history, and culture. Although you
can view the entries without a membership, you do need one to view the articles in their entirety.

The National Criminal Justice Reference Service provides articles and other resources focused on
criminal justice and drug-related information. It is funded by the U.S. government and provides links to
full-text articles whenever possible.

The mission of the Open Library of Humanities is to "support and extend open access to scholarship in
the humanities." To research your topic, browse the featured journals and search for your required
keywords.

PhilPapers is an index of philosophy-related journals, books, open access archives, and personal pages
of academics. It is "maintained by the community of philosophers" and allows you to browse over 1,000
philosophy journals. It does have a function that allows you to search open access resources only.

Political Information is a search engine for politics, policy, and political news with more than 5,000
carefully selected websites for political information.

A free resource containing 380,000 records, POPLINE helps you seek resources related to family
planning and reproductive health. Although it is free to search, access to articles does require that you
pay a membership fee.

Psycline allows you to look for psychology and social sciences journals and articles across many
databases. Although some articles are behind paywalls, others are open access.
PubPsych allows users to search psychology-related resources and directs them to articles and journals.
Full texts are available for most articles, but there are some you may have to purchase.

The Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is a collection of papers from scholars in the social sciences
community including cognitive science, leadership, management, and social insurance. The site offers
over 700,000 abstracts and over 600,000 full-text papers.

The Thomson Reuters Social Sciences Citation Index is a paid tool, but well worth its cost for the wealth
of relevant articles, search tools, and thorough resources available.
Use this site from the University of Amsterdam to browse sociological subjects including activism,
culture, peace, and racism.
Check out this guide to find all of the sociological resources you’ll need on the internet. The SocioWeb
offers links to articles, essays, journals, blogs, and even a marketplace.
This archive is a catalog of electronic literary and linguistic resources. Although many are freely
accessible, some texts have restricted access.

VET-Bib, of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, contains 80,000
references related to vocational education training. Not all articles are in English, but you can sort by
language if needed.
WikiArc is a search tool that allows you to find open access documents related to archaeology.
With this custom Google search engine, you can find open access articles about archaeology.

BASE is operated by the Bielefeld University Library, and it offers over 100 million documents from over
4,000 sources. Sixty percent of its content is open access, and you can filter your search accordingly.

CiteULike allows users to find reputable resources in the form of journals and articles. It also acts as an
online bibliography manager for organizing references.

CogPrints is an electronic database of self-archived research for which full texts are available. The
database includes work in the fields of psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science,
philosophy, and biology.

CORE aims to aggregate all open access research and facilitate unrestricted access to research. It allows
users to check more than 66 million open access articles.

An imprint of independent academic publisher De Gruyter, De Gruyter Open publishes and indexes
open access material, including 435 journals and more than 100 books, in all major academic
disciplines.

This index provides access to over 172,000 dissertations from 1902 to the present in a variety of
subjects. Full texts are provided when available.

Run by the British Library, EThOS allows you to browse more than 400,000 doctoral theses. Although
some full texts are unavailable through EThOS and must be accessed through the institution at which it
was published, a PDF is provided whenever a full text is available.
Google Correlate is a custom search engine that allows you to search real-world trends and data.

JSTOR is a very well-known resource, offering access to journals, primary sources, and books in a variety
of disciplines. You can register for a free account, but many of the articles are behind a paywall.

Microsoft’s academic search engine offers access to more than 38 million different publications, with
features including maps, graphing, trends, and paths that show how authors are connected.

OAlster is a database that "contains records of digital resources from open-archive collections
worldwide." You can become a member to get access to all the resources, and physical copies can be
delivered to your library through WorldCat.

The Open Access Scholarly Information Sourcebook (OASIS) is an online directory of open access
journals in a variety of subjects.

This database of journals published by Oxford University Press acts as an archive of over 300 journals in
a wide range of subjects. You can search by subject or keyword to find your desired subject, and full
texts are provided when available.

Paperity boasts being the "first multi-disciplinary aggregator of open access journals and papers." Its
focus is helping you avoid paywalls while connecting you to authoritative research.
With more than 11 million members, this platform allows researchers to both share and find research.
Although you must sign up to use the platform, registration is free.
SafetyLit directs researchers to theses, reports, and journal articles focusing on safety and injury
prevention.
SciELO is a database with more than 1,249 scientific journals. It offers open access to scholarly
documents in the fields of biology and technology. The site was "especially conceived to meet the
scientific communication needs of developing countries," allowing you to search by region, as well as
ensuring the visibility and accessibility of research from these areas.

Sparrho's goal is to "democratise science," providing open access to over 45,000 journals.
SpringerLink helps researchers find relevant resources, providing links to full articles, where available,
or links to where the book or article can be accessed for a fee.
This collection of online resources provides access to over six million articles in countless disciplines.
You can check through all journals or limit your search to only open access journals.
WorldWideScience.org connects researchers with authoritative sources about various science-related
subjects.

Zenodo was "built and developed by researchers, to ensure that everyone can join in open science."
You can sort by keyword, title, journal, and more and download open access documents directly from
the site.
