ORAL TIPS

Speaking is one of the four skills that you have to pass in your EOI year.
You will have to send a Speaking Tasks to your teacher in every unit. But,
we will give you some extra tasks in the units that will help you as practice
for the final unit task and for the exams that you will have to pass.

There is an initial task where you have to introduce yourself (Personal

Introduction) in a forum in your classroom. Then, you can go to Unit 1 and
pay attention to the different Forums in each unit in case an extra oral
activity appears.

To do the speaking tasks you

will have to record a video
using Youtube and send it to
your teacher following the
instructions you will be given in
the tasks.

BEFORE DOING THE

SPEAKING TASKS!!!!
Remember certain important
points whenever you record
yourself for a speaking
activity.
• Try not to read when you
record yourself.

• Do not memorise,
• Be spontaneous (natural) and imagine yourself as if you were in front
of the teacher
• Be creative and try to be original.
• Do not copy from other students or from the Internet. Teachers
know what you can do and sometimes copies do not adequate exactly
to the task you have to do.
• Think carefully about what you are going to say.
• Check your intonation and rhythm
• Check your pronunciation.
• Use the structures, (grammar) and vocabulary that you are learning
in every unit.
• Do not use Spanish words or expressions.
 • If you don’t remember a word, try to paraphrase it. Try to explain it
in English, use a synonym, etc.
• Talk about the topic.

In the interaction,

• Try to participate in the dialogue.

• Try to make your partner speak
• Respect the turns of speaking.
• Refer to the topic you have to talk about.

SPEAKING CHECKING (Corrección del oral)

A la hora de corregir las tareas y los exámenes orales, tanto en el

monólogo como en la interacción, tendremos en cuenta cuatro aspectos
diferentes.

ADECUACIÓN. Aquí se valorarán las estrategias comunicativas: la

espontaneidad, las vacilaciones a la hora de hablar.., así como el registro y
la interacción con el compañero en el diálogo. También se tendrá en
cuenta la adecuación a la tarea.

COHESIÓN Y COHERENCIA: se valorará la naturalidad, la fluidez, el

enlace de ideas y la estructura del discurso. Así como si la entonación y el
ritmo son adecuados a la situación.

RIQUEZA tanto LÉXICA como de ESTRUCTURAS: aquí se valorará si

tanto las estructuras usadas como el vocabulario son propios del nivel y
específicos para el contexto, su variedad y la presencia o no de
repeticiones..

CORRECCIÓN tanto GRAMATICAL como de VOCABULARIO y

PRONUNCIACIÓN: aquí se tiene en cuenta el uso correcto de las
estructuras y del léxico y en qué medida el tipo de errores afectan a la
comprensión. Así mismo, se tendrá en cuenta si la pronunciación del
discurso afecta o no a la comprensión por parte del oyente..

En la corrección de vuestras tareas el profesor/profesora os hará un

comentario general, indicándoos aquellos aspectos positivos y aquellos
mejorables de vuestra tarea. Cada exposición oral se valorará sobre 100.
El mínimo exigido para aprobar cada tarea será de 50 puntos.
