JOB TITLE: Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO)

LOCATION: Offshore UK

On behalf of one of our customers, OSM Maritime is seeking candidates for the position as
Helicopter Landing Officer onboard a semi-submersible accommodation unit operating on
the UK-sector.

OPERATIONAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compliance with the Company Integrated Management System including reporting as necessary.
• Maintaining operational readiness of the Helideck including all fire-fighting and emergency/rescue equipment.
• Monitoring air band frequency to give landing clearance, when appropriate, and warning the pilot if an unsafe
situation develops.
• Fabric maintenance and housekeeping on the Helideck.
• Completion and recording of helideck maintenance carried out in accordance with the Planned Maintenance
System as directed by the Chief Officer.
• Advising the Chief Officer on the ordering of spares and consumables related to the operation of the Helideck
including helicopter fuel.
• Liaises with Heli Admin to ensure timely availability of Helideck for arriving flights.
• Safe movement of passengers, supervision of baggage and freight handling and correct stowage of baggage.
• Ensuring any cargo manifest requirement issued by a Helicopter Operator is complied with and the helicopter
Pilot is advised of any dangerous substances which are to be stored on the helicopter and shipped in
accordance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
• Coordination of Helideck Crew during helicopter operations.
• Fabric maintenance and housekeeping on deck and other spaces as instructed by the Bosun or their nominee.
• The HLO may be required to act as Work Group Leader, under Permit to Work system.

• 20 take off and landings is a minimum requirement


• Valid offshore medical acceptable to the sector of operation
• BOSIET
• Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
• OPITO HDA Initial (or HDA Further) Training
• OPITO HERTM (or HDA Further) Training
• OPITO Workplace Experience & Competence Assessment
• OPITO Helicopter Refueling
• IATA Dangerous Goods Awareness
