1. Configuring Tables

The Transformer Monitoring DTA is configured by entering information into a number of

configuration tables, using the Config Pro Configuration System.

1.1 Transformer Monitoring DTA Configuration Tables

Each Transformer Monitoring DTA configuration table follows the naming convention in which
the prefix or first four characters of the table name is an application descriptor. This descriptor is
an identification code chosen to indicate the application with which the table is associated. The
application descriptor for the Transformer Monitoring DTA is A187. The last four characters of
the name indicate the function of the table. Table 1 summarizes the information contained in
each Transformer Monitoring DTA configuration table.

1.2 Configuration Sequence

The following is a list of the steps required to configure the Transformer Monitoring DTA:
1. Build the Transformer Monitoring DTA configuration. Using the GE Energy Config Pro
configuration software, prepare the configuration according to the guidelines in this
document and the specific use for which the Transformer Monitoring DTA is required.
2. Build the configuration for the other applications that will run on the product. Prepare them
according to their own configuration guides.
3. Generate the configuration and download it to the RTU using the GE Energy Config Pro
configuration software.
4. Restart the RTU. If the Transformer Monitoring DTA encounters an error during its
initialization, it will log a message to the WESMAINT Error Log, then, depending on the
severity of the error, terminate or continue with its run-time function.
5. Check for error messages. Log into the WESMAINT maintenance interface, select the
System Functions item from the Main menu, and then select the Error Log item from the
System Functions menu. If any error messages are displayed, correct the problem as
described in Appendix A: Error Messages, and repeat steps 2 through 4.
When the Transformer Monitoring DTA has successfully validated all the configuration
parameters, configuration is complete.

15. Configuring WIN for the Transformer

Monitoring DTA

This chapter describes how to configure the WIN application to work with the Transformer
Monitoring DTA. The WIN application allocates the WESDAC data points for all applications. In
order to work properly the Transformer Monitoring DTA must have its own record within the WIN
application's System Point Database. The DCA Index, specified in the Main Application
configuration table, references this record. Additional information on configuring WIN can be found
in the WIN Configuration Guide listed in the Additional Documentation section of this document.

A. Error Messages

This appendix describes all messages that may be logged by the Transformer Monitoring DTA to
the WESMAINT Error Log. During startup, the Transformer Monitoring DTA checks its
configuration before beginning its initialization. If any errors are found, an appropriate error
message is logged. If a fatal error is found, further operation is suspended.
Messages logged by the Transformer Monitoring DTA are prepended with a process name. This
name will be one of:
• A187: Main Process.
• A187-M-00: Model Engine Process.
Expressions in braces, like {text1|text2}, are lists of text literals, separated by vertical bars (|) of
which one and only one must occur in the message.
Expressions in angular brackets, like <xx>, are message variables, which are filled with the
appropriate values by the Transformer Monitoring DTA.
