ACTIVITY I- CRITICAL THINKING QUESTIONS (10 points)

Answer the following questions.

1. How does social networking increase a person’s power? What social networking strategies could
you initiate now to enhance your future career success?
2. How do cultural differences affect the following influence factors: (a) silent authority and (b)
upward appeal?

ACTIVITY II- DIAGNOSING CORPORATE CULTURE PROCLAMATIONS

Instructions: Each of you will choose a specific industry such as energy, biotechnology, or computer
hardware. Search the websites of several companies in the selected industry for company statements
about their corporate cultures. Write your insight about it and support your observations by answering
the following questions.
1. What values seem to dominate the corporate cultures of the companies you searched? Are these
values similar or diverse across companies in the industry?
2. What was the broader content of the web pages on which these companies described or
mentioned their corporate cultures?
3. Do companies in this industry refer to their corporate cultures on their websites more or less than
companies in other industries searched by teams in this class?

ACTIVITY III- GROUP CASE STUDY

Direction: The class will be divided into teams of five (5) to six (5) members. Choose YOUR group and
topic to be discuss with your members. Personal gathering is not allowed, use social media for your
conversations. This will be your final examination.
