MGT210 course. We strongly believe this report will touch upon all the important issues and
notions that gives you a clear idea about the management of Zero Gravity Ventures Ltd. We have
conducted face to face interviews with the CEO of ZGVL and used several websites to gather
proper and accurate details of the company for this report. All of the said sites have been listed in
the bibliography at the end of the report to maintain transparency.

commerce company and gather knowledge about their Management with real interviews and real

Zero Gravity Ventures Limited (ZGVL) is a buzzing e-commerce venture from Ananta group,
one of country’s leading conglomerates. It formally launched in June 2016. The company does
business through online. They have two online sites One is sindabad.com saves “Your Effort,
Time & Money”. Their tag line explains what their main purpose is. Their main objective is to
deliver 100 % good product at low cost and less time to people. The main entrepreneur of the
business is,

Because of busyness, many people can not afford the necessary things despite their desire. So
they and their team try to meet the need for human beings, whether it is studying, official,
business work, factory involved.

Mission :
Their mission is to create a new era for e-commerce in Bangladesh. Also delivering 100% good
product to the public in less time at a lower price. So that people may reduce shopping hassle.

Vision :
In the future, they want to see themselves at a stage where people will remember them for any
need. Along with that, they want to take their business internationally within 2 or 3 years. So that
they can reach the international quality products to the customers.

To prepare our report we went to the e-commerce business organization that has strong stages in
Bangladesh, Which is Zero Gravity Ventures Limited (ZGVL) a venture from Ananta group.
This is an online business by which people can easily get their office and home supplies very
cheap and at low prices. It makes e-commerce easily accessible to people from all walks of life.
They are currently running two leading online businesses; sindabad.com the country’s first and
leading B2B e-commerce site- saving money, time, and man hours and kiksha.com an amazing
shopping destination for fashion, electronics lifestyle products ,gadgets and electronic items.

We talked with the CEO of Zero Gravity Ventures Limited Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq. He helped
us with the information as much as possible. For this report, we have demonstrated SWOT
Analysis, BCG Matrix, Porter’s Five Forces for Zero Gravity Ventures Limited . We also
discussed about what strategy they are using to cope up with the competition in the market. Their
mission is to create a new era for e-commerce in Bangladesh. It formally launched in 2016. In
just three years it has been able to offer the best products to their customers. The management of
this company constantly looks after customers’ satisfaction they believe that customers'
satisfaction will help them to proceed. They provide 100% original products with brand
warranty. They keep less charge and the price of product keep comparatively less from other
companies. Thus they have been able to stay in the top list of customers' favourite list.

They currently have 94% shares in B2B business. Sindabad.com has grown exponentially,
serving over 500 Corporates & Factories and 350 SMEs within just a little over 3 years. As a
testament to their path breaking work and Focus on technology, they have been awarded as the
Best Start-up by BASIS in ICT Nation-Al Awards 2018. They have also received the 18th
APICTA Merit Award for Best Start Up!

They have no annual report.

Zero Gravity Ventures Limited keeps a fine office space in Banani, Dhaka plus warehouse and
distribution facilities Baridhara, Uttara and Chittagong. Their cutting edge logistics and
fulfilment capabilities are unmatched in Bangladesh.

Situational Analysis:

Zero gravity is popularly known as B2B website developing business. They have developed
some renowned website like kiksha.com, Sinbad.com etc. and so on. For comparing their internal
analysis, they are holding their financial department, Human resource department, Marketing
department and their own information and technology department. They all have done their
operation separately. Their main operation starts from a particular potential idea. When they find
some potential idea from the market they immediately transfer the idea to their higher
management authority. If the higher authority likes the idea, then they allocate a budget for
implement the idea into the reality. When the budget is fixed then they transfer it to the finance
department for the compensation. If the finance department are agreed, then it is transferred to
the HR department in order to select the best employees who will be suitable for working on that
unique idea. When the team is ready then they start working and the employees work on the idea
and give it a final shape. When the final product is finished then it comes the turn for marketing
and technology department. The marketing team works for promoting the final product and their
job is to reach the target market for the product. When they are selecting the target market the
technology helps them to find out the target market easily. Rather than the technology and
information system also shares the information flow to every major departments of the
organization so that everyone have an easy access to the information flow and collect their
necessary information easily and conveniently. Finally, that’s how the internal system works in
Ananta group. At current scenario Zero gravity strength is they are the first and leading company
in this sector their market share is also higher than their competitor and they catch most of their
client than their competitor. They have also some weakness in delivery time as there are new
company they have some problem in delivery time. They are trying to improve in this sector.
They train their employees so that they can give better delivery service.

2. External Analysis:
The external environment is also an important factor for any business. They mainly sell the
factory products through online. Then if there are some uncertain situation arises then they will
be in danger. Because if the buyer is not buying the products then they need to hold the inventory

because the manufacturer is not willing to take the risk of the distribution. If the distribution
system stops then their business will also stop. So they need to be very careful about their
external environment. If the external environment is favorable, then their business will be good.
But if the external environment is not favorable then it is a bad news for their business. Another
fact is if the producer fails to supply the product on time it is also a danger for them because if
the producer stops then Ananta group will automatically stop. When there is strike and other staff
like this in that time factory didn’t buy product and when there is crisis in economy in that time
also Company didn’t buy product in that time zero gravity has no one to cell product so that
external environment is very important for them, if their external environment is good they can
sell more product to factory. Political issue is also a very big factor to them if the country is
politically unstable than factory didn’t buy product so that they cannot sell product. It is also a
big impact to their business. Economic trends also a big factor to zero gravity if economy in
recession company would produce goods and product so that company didn’t buy more product
than zero gravity cannot sell more product. Zero gravity is doing well than their competitor they
have 94% market share, and they also keep their price lower than their competitor.

SWOT Analysis:
SWOT analysis is a structured planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities, and Threats in a business. Typically, the objectives of a SWOT analysis is to build
the company strengths and minimize on weaknesses. In an industry like ecommerce, we will

want to take advantage of opportunities quickly so that we can break away from our competitors
or other threats before they can neutralize it.

Strength:

1.Company Administration: All employee can make decision for every work. The SINDABAD
company CEO gives a command to the employee which he gives not only guidelines but also
takes communication feedback . Even he also takes training development for improving their
skills.

2. Company Position: The position of SINDABAD is second in the e-commerce of market


place. Moreover, their clients are Dhaka Bank and Prime Bank who they have aggremented with
every work .

3. Numbers of Employee : This SINDABAD company has more than 226 employees. Even,
Employees have a high academic level and a mature experience that they can manage their work
easily.

4. The ability of resources: This company has satisfactory quality of assets. Besides, they can
suffer a few losses without a major harm to their finance. This company is getting more revenue
than DARAZ.

5. The process of marketing: They sell different types of product such as, LPG, Industrial
materials, Swing machine parts, Electric Cables, Paper, Printer cartridges and they also sell all
kinds of industries (call center, educational institutions, financial institutions, Manufacturing
companies) necessary products.

6. Structural of company: They are distributed their work properly between each department.
They have two department such as: functional and support even, this department have divided
several sub-department, example: sales and business, category,operation,fullfillment etc work
under functional department and HR, administration, fiancial etc work under support department.

7. Price of every products and establish customer relationship : This company sells at a lower
price to the customers than DARAZ company. They keep their customers trust helps to retain
their market share. And this contributes to having Loyal customers who choose SINDABAD
over any other e-business company.

8. The company environment: Environment of company is well decorated and comfortable.


Even, there have arrangements for girls safety as well as their work process are explicit. This
pleases the Customers and makes their experience in the company more enjoyable and
comfortable. Building their loyalty for the company .

Weakness:

1. Service quality: There has some delivery problem. But they are trying to do delivery into 3
days. Even, they have assumed that they will not give any false promise for delivery.

2. Psychological Impact: Absence of the direct interaction between the customer and the seller
makes impossible to affect the decision making

3.Comparing other industry: Their position is not so high than all other market share. Evenly,
their opinion is that their company has no exist suchlike all e-commerce industry.

4. Personal Aspect: A great number of customers prefer to buy a product personally visiting the
market rather than purchasing through internet.

5. High Customer Expectation: Some consumers expect the same level of service from small
business and industry giants like amazon.com, as the result it leads to customer dissatisfaction.

6. Discrimination of employee salary: This company gives minimum salary depending on their
employee works. While, any employees are doing better then they give promotion as usual other
company. But reversely, when any employees make foolish of their boss then their boss give half
of salary to them.

7. Lack of coordination: Lack of coordination can be fatal in times of crisis, when branches and
head office may not reach a single conclusion and perform tasks to achieve futile goals due to
communication problems.

Opportunities:

1. Market Growth: SINDABAD company has totally 94% market share than DARAZ. Even,
they have claimed that their company is one the most single industry specially, Business to
Business in the market place.

2. Top brand product in the whole world: Double A is the exclusive tissue which they sell at
international market place. Even, it is one of the most distribute tissue box and also they are
owner of this tissue.

3. Industry Growth: Retail sales on the internet show incredible growth :


B2B sector- from $730 to $9500;
B2C sector- from $70 to $360.
growth is expected to continue at high rates and having a business online allows the merchant to
be a position to benefit from this expansion.

4. Launching other station: This company have done to establish RADIO Frutti. Besides, they
earn 9000tk per min from RADIO Frutti. Morover, they also have predicted that their RADIO
Frutti will be 60,000tk average per min in roja month.

5. Aggrement with global company: Amazon company deal with this company. Even, the
Amazon company is hiring their employee because their employee is well trained and have

experience of work.

6. Global Influences: Even if a compnay starts to work online with a local market, e-commerce
component gives it, an ability to spread the activity around the global market.

Threats:

1. Political issue: Sometimes, they face political problems then the level of their business is
continuously down. Again, the customer do not order the product in this situation.

2. Competition: The low barriers alow easy entry into the market, this increases the competition
level and can cause a reduction in prices and profit margins.

3. Fraud: Some customers have concerns about fraud and misuse of their financial data. This fact
forms a whole segment that is not likely to do business or make purchases via the internet.

4. Privacy Concerns: Some consumers prefer not to give any personal information because of
fears that the information will be misused and lead to spam email.

5. Future Legislation: Considering the growth of e-commerce and amount of tax revenue lost to
it, the government could write legislation to impose tax on all online sales. This would remove
one incentive to conducting business online.

Finally, we can say that they are trying to make best service quality as well as interaction
relationship direct with customers and also solve many other problems . Even they have said
that their main target as if everyall can know one name about this company after next 3 years .

The BCG Matrix of Zero gravity:

Overall it may seem that zero gravity itself stands on the the star quadrant of the BCG matrix as
it has high growth rate and high market share. They actively open warehouses in more profitable
areas in Dhaka but they have already had their major growth in the industry .

However we will discuss the BCG matrix for the most profitable Products/ Services of Zero
gravity. Some of these products work and some don’t. BCG matrix is showing the situation of
these products clearly and helps us to understand why and how their performance is affected

• The Cash Cow

For a Cash Cow their market has reached at a certain point and their profits is not at
regular stable structure. They are increasing their profits at a regular stable structure
after that their product will reach into cash cow.

For Zero Gravity they have Earned 94% of market share of their market but they are
still improving their growth because their growth is lower than their shares of the
market

• The Star

It is the hot topic of the of the BCG matrix. The products of the company has not
reached in a certain point. But their market share of this products is very high in this
case.

For Zero Gravity they have earned the maximum level of market share which is 94%
and the competitor has only 6% of market share. And they are earning growth higher
than t]heir competitors

• The Question Mark

The question mark list the products that brings profit and growth but this products is
not capturing enough market share. It happens with the new products.

For Zero Gravity they are not thinking of launching new products.

• The Dog

The Dog has a low market growth rate and low market share. The products at this
stage are mostly at break-even level. Sometimes the products need to be shut down if
it is continuously making the loss.

Zero Gravity has no products which is surviving at the dog’s stage.

Porter’s Five Forces:

Sindabad.com is the countries first B2B one stop purchasing solution website, Which is
controlled by Zero Gravity venture limited. This company offers needy staffs for factories and
institutions like- Stationaries, Computer and IT, Machine and Parts, Chemicals, Medical
accessories, etc. But after sindabad.com, a company enter in the same industry which is called
bugdoom.com or Gemsclip.

This company also offers needy staffs for factories and institutions needy staffs, but the
difference is the price of products from bugdoom is cheaper than sindabad. Which means this is
the threat of new entrance for zero gravity.

Burgaining Power of Buyers:

As Zero gravity company is a B2B online purchasing website, and the clients should be any
educational/financial institutions, factories, hospitals, Offices. So They offer the needy products
which is the clients actually wants. Whereas, institutions and factories need a lot of products for
decoration, regular needs, supplies, etc. So they obviously want all the staffs from one place in a
cheaper price. But If we compare between sindabad and bugdoom, we see that the products from
bugdoom are cheaper than sindabad. But the service of sindabad is satisfying, that’s why there is
a green light for zero gravity. But the customers has the right of burgain power.

Threat Of Substitution:

Zero gravity or sindabad is the countries most potential online place where they offers best
products for factories and institions. Also Bugdoom or Gemsclip also offer the same products in
cheaper price. This may be the big difference between these companies and also a threat of
substitution of their products.

Burgaining Power of Suppliers:

Obviously they don’t produce the products which is offered by sindabad.com. They have a dealer
or connection with some manufacturing company, who supply the products to sindabad.com. As
sindabad has no power to produce any product , so the suppliers have the power to burgain.
Every manufacturing company know which companies are potential and able to spend a big
amount of money. So the suppliers use the trick to demand a amount to the potential company
like zero gravity, because they has the right.

Competitive Rivalry:

The main competitor of Zero gravity company is Gemsclip. These companies offer same
category of products and they have a big difference in price. But if we compare with these two
company, Zero gravity provides fast and best service. But still gemsclip try to compete Zero
gravity.

Objectives of Zero Gravity Ventures:

 Customer Satisfaction:

There first and one of the most important objective is customer satisfaction. They tries to
provide their delivery in time and also provide original product. By this they can make
their customer satisfied. Not only do they strive to be their best with their Customers but
they have this very sentiment expressed rather boldly in their slogan for the Company,
which says “Saves Your Effort, Time & Money”.

Recently, in 2018, they have won the award “Basis National ICT Awards 2018” and
“Apicta Awards 2018” . This Award was earned due to their great Customer service and
Fine Quality Management.

This objective is tuned with the first objective. Powerful MIS will ensure the spread of
accurate and timely information of the customers and by this customers will get better
services. And it will smooth the flow of information of the organization.

They provide the best deal to their customers. Everyone will get their product in a
competitive price with a lot less hassle. “Just click and order away!” their motto in this
part. They provide their products at a small rate as they can.

 Skilled Staff:

They have skilled staff to ensure the efficiency is achieved and the operation of the
company remains smooth.

They provide 100% authentic and original product to their customers. People always
wants authentic products and original products otherwise they won’t satisfied on
purchasing things from this company.

They have various products on one platform. Because of this people can order various
things from one platform.

They provide payment options that are tested to be reliable and secure. Also they have the
service cash on delivery whom they can achieve their customers satisfaction. That is the

If anyone wants to start any business of his own they can provide a growing assortment
of thousands of products. The person will anything that his business needs. No matter
what business the people is in.

 Simple return policy:

They will refund their customers money for any products if the product is not original.
Their return policy is taking the duplicate product from the customer without asking any

They have 7 days return policy after sale of the product. One of the team member of their
operation team will collect the product from the customer for exchange or return if
needed without asking any questions.

Management Issues:

1. Only Lower level employees involve to make decisions:

As Zero Gravity Ventures Limited is an E-commerce company and their goal is to build, launch
and grow online business for the people and business houses of Bangladesh. The decision
making power of this company is- Decentralization.

Decentralization refers to when lower-level employees provide input or actually make decisions.

As their business is basically an online-based service, so the whole thing is under control by
employees. Customer wants, Product availability, Feedbacks , etc types information collected by
the employees. So when the company facing any problem and ready to make a decision, the CEO
and the employees communicate with each other about the problems and the CEO give them the
power to make a decision, but he didn’t involve in this process. Because the CEO of the
company think that, the employees know the best and they can solve the problem,
Solution: In every challenging time, The Upper Level employees has to be involved and has the
right to suggest any solve though the employees have the decision making power. So, The upper
level managers should has to be involved and flexibility to make decisions. Because the lower
level employees never think or show creativity like the upper level managers.

2. They don’t bother about Customer’s Wants:

In every small and large companies first target is to achieve customer’s satisfaction. If any
company don’t fulfill their customers demands, they never overcome or achieve their main goal.
Zero Gravity Venture Limited is currently running two leading online businesses:

1. Sindabad.com
2. Kiksha.com

Sindabad.com and Kiksha.com is the country’s first and leading B2B (Business to Business) e-
commerce site, in which have shopping destination for fashion, electronics and lifestyle
products. Their main customers are Garments, Educational institutions, Financial institutions,
Manufacturing companies, Call center and BPO , Pharmaceutical industry and small offices.

At the beginning of their journey, they do care about customers needs and wants. They once
actually sells whatever customer wants and after they collect customers feedback,they decided to
sell products whatever they want. Because they assume that, they will be the dolls of their
customers, if they sells products whatever customer wants. So they stopped to sell customer-
based products, then they started to sell the actual needs.

Solution: Customers satisfaction is the first priority for every type of business. So if they assume
that know the customer needs and sell them is not right, they never achieve their goal and
reputation from their customers. They have to know what the customers needs, so that they know
the trend.

3. Restrictions for break period:

Nobody can work continuously at the same place, they need some refreshment or break.
Continuously work makes people disinterest at the particular task and they feel bored sometimes.
That’s why job workers need a break for chilled out with colleagues, grab a cup of coffee and
walk outside to feel the nature. In this company, their rules like a school/college institutions.
They have a open well-decorated cafeteria at the top of the floor where workers can pass their
break time with a cup of tea and beside the cafeteria there has a gym, where employees can work
out after their work time or during break-time. But the CEO of that company assumes that, their
employees never demotivated in this way. Because they have that well decorated cafeteria and
gym. But some employees may be a smoker, so they need to go outside for smoke. Otherwise,
There has any talk, they can’t discussed in the office area. So, for these reasons, employees need
to go outside during break-time.

Solution: The company should change the rules that, the employees can go outside during their
break time and fixed the time for break period so that employees can’t waste time by doing
hangout.

4. They have less concern about their competitors:

Competitors are the main threat for every company. But if any company never or have less
concern about their competitors, they never know the progress of their competitors. Because they
assume that their company is best and they don’t have to worry whatever the competitors do. As
Zero gravity company is the the first of its kind business-to-business (B2B) one stop purchasing
solution website in Bangladesh, so they know nobody can beat them so easily. After Sindabad
there is another purchasing website “Bugdoom.com” which is control by “Gemsclip” company.
This company also provide service by selling products in online service. But the service of
Sindabad company is faster than bugdoom. Though Sindabad provide their best, but maybe
someday anything can be happen.

Solution: As The company rarely observe their competitors, so the company should observe and
analyze their competitors, so that they can forecast what they have to do and which is better for
their reputation.

5. One department employees can’t discuss with another departments employees:

In decision making process, every employees report their final progress to their boss. Suppose, if
any worker from finance dept. want any news from the employee of marketing dept. for any
business purpose, this can’t be allowed in this company. Because if any employee wants the
answer of any business query, they have to go to their boss. But This process is so lengthy to
achieve a goal. If any employee doesn’t know about business progress fully, how can they make
decision or plan as the decision making style is decentralization? And obviously an employees
can’t go to their boss again and again for several problems, they should have the opportunity to
collect informations from other departments.

Solution: The company should break this kind of barriers to collect informations from their
collegues. Otherwise the employees maybe feel fed up for facing their boss again and again.
Another thing is, this one by one process is so lengthy to achieve a goal and one can complete
their task when the previous one done the task. That’s why the company should give the
opportunity to discuss with employee to employee from different depts.

Conclusion:
After our company visit and immense research with the interview with the CEO of ZGVL and
various online articles, we have come to understand that ZGVL aims to be the first of its kind
business-to-business (B2B) one stop purchasing solution website in Bangladesh by offering
products which is needy for office and factories. They are doing this by providing and
encouraging relevant and understandable information to the potential customers. However they
should keep in mind about their employees on whom depends the quality of the e-commerce
venture company. Motivated employees would result in potential satisfaction of customers.
