ELECTRICAL POWER CONSUMPTION LIMITER FOR INDUSTRIES

INTRODUCTION:

A device which limits the usage of electrical power when it is used beyond the predefined
KVA rating.

DESCRIPTION:

Industries are provided with 3-phase supply from the distribution transformers. The
transformers are rated according to maximum KVA required. But if industry tends to draw more
power than the rated then the over-loading of transformer occur which results in reduction in
transformer efficiency and increase in demand. The other nearby consumers also suffers by
problems of voltage drops. The electricity board is affected by increase in demand due to power
consumption than the limits. Our project implements a circuit which limits the power usage to
predefined value of KVA. If the usage goes beyond the limit then the warning is displayed and
after some time if the same condition exists then the power is cut-off.
