Development of MNC is hampering the development of the public sector
Why:
Students are unable to understand how the growth in MNC's hampers the growth of the public sector
as they get confused between providing employment and hindering the growth simultaneously.
Impact:
Students will not be able to apprehend that MNC's have the advantage of spreading out production
across the borders.

Focus Point: 2
Identifying whether foreign trade leads to the development of all nations on an equal scale
Why:
Students find it difficult to analyse whether foreign trade leads to the development of all nations on a
equal scale as they do not get that exchange value is different for different countries and that the gap
between developing and developed nations still exist.
Impact:
Students are unable to fathom that with the opening of trade, choice of goods rise in the market,
prices of similar goods tend to become equal and also the producers across countries compete
closely.

Focus Point: 3
Definition of globalisation and its effect on the world economy and politics
Why:
Students do not get the concept of globalisation and its effect on the world economy as they are
unable to link politics with globalisation.
Impact:
Students will not be able to infer that development in information and communication technology
affects economy majorly. As a result, the effects of globalisation on both the world economy and
politics will remain unclear.

Identification of the role of information and communication technology (IT) in spreading out production
of services
Why:
Students are unable to grasp how IT helps in the production of services as they do not get how
development in the IT sector leads to a huge brain drain in our country.
Impact:
Students fail to accept the growth of the IT industry as the unemployment scenario still persists.

Focus Point: 5
FDI (Foreign Direct Investment)
Why:
Students find it difficult to understand the concept of FDI as they are unable to relate FDI with
liberalisation and foreign trade.
Impact:
Students will not be able to apprehend that FDI in India is a major monetary source for the economic
development in India. How the foreign companies take advantage of cheaper wages and changing
business environment will remain unclear to them.
