Dear Miss Charlotte Munro

Winter Energy Payment

The Government has decided to double the Winter Energy Payment for 2020.

This means from 1 May 2020 you’ll get an extra $40.91 a week until 1 October.

The Winter Energy Payment won't affect other payments you get from us and isn't considered
income (for tax purposes).

If you'd prefer not to get this payment, that's fine. Just let us know and we'll stop it for you. You
can do this using a form on our website www.workandincome.govt.nz/winterenergypayment - or
call us. If you want to re-start the payment at a later date, please get in touch.

If you're getting Foster Care Allowance or caring for any children under 18, please get in touch.
We may be able to pay you at a higher rate.

The Winter Energy Payment will be paid until 1 October.

We're here to help

If you have any questions please get in touch, our contact details are over the page. We want to
give you all the support we can.

Yours sincerely

Linda Coffin
