Your Winter Energy Payment is stopping

I wanted to let you know your Winter Energy Payment will stop from 1 October 2023.

About your payments

When the Winter Energy Payment stops part way through the pay period, your final payment will
be less than the full weekly amount.

If anything changes between now and 1 October 2023 that affects the payments you qualify for,
your Winter Energy Payment may stop earlier.

Next year’s Winter Energy Payment

If you qualify for the Winter Energy Payment next year, you’ll get this automatically from 1 May
until 1 October. Check www.workandincome.govt.nz/winterenergypayment for more
information.

If you’d prefer not to receive the Winter Energy Payment, that’s fine. Just let us know and we’ll
stop it for you. The easiest way to do that is online at workandincome.govt.nz or you can call us.

We’re here to help
