You are an HR practitioner. Your friend, who is setting up a new business, that is,
Show Shine Enterprise, requested you to help him in the recruitment of people to fill-in the
following positions: (Note: the owner will act as the general manager)
Marketing Specialist
1 Marketing Staff
Finance/Accounting Officer
1 Finance personnel
1 Accounting Personnel
1 HR Representative
1 IT Specialist
5 Sales Representatives (fresh graduates)
These positions must be filled-in within three months.. You are provided with a
budget that you could use for recruitment.
1. Discuss comprehensively the strategies that you will use to recruit the above-
mentioned positions.
In making strategies to recruit the people needed. The first thing needs to do is to
brand first the business. Even though it is still new, there are ways to brand it like in
the social media, friend’s referral and more. It is a good way to advertise the
business of my friend but also the vacant positions needed. Nowadays, social media
and job posting sites, such as Facebook, Jobfinder, JobStreet and more, are the best
way to advertise the recruitment. Another strategy that can be include is joining
job fairs, and postings with graduate and career service offices.
Aside from that, having a better job description is a great way in recruitment
success. The job description should be specific, clear and accurate. It is also to help
the receiving applications faster and easier.
Show Shine enterprise is still a new business thus, daily minimum wage rate
will be given to the Marketing Staff, Finance Personnel, Accounting Personnel, HR
Representative and the 5 Sales Representative. The daily minimum wage rate in
Davao City is Php 370.00 excluding Cost-of-Living-Adjustment (COLA). All of the
staff have no COLA yet until they become regular employees. Php 500.00 per day
will be the wage of the Marketing Specialist, the Finance Accounting Officer and the
IT Specialist. Their wage is higher compared to others because of their higher
qualifications and responsibilities in the company.
