Evaluate the lesson plan according to the following Australian Professional Standards for
Teachers. Only standards directly addressed in Designing Teaching & Learning that are
relevant to this assignment have been included. However, this does not mean the other
standards are irrelevant to lesson planning and evaluation more generally.

1.3 Students with diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Comments: Nothing has been mentioned in the lesson plan about the
diverse cultural backgrounds. Although, a range of differentiated learning
can be implemented in the class to response to the learning strengths and
needs of all the students.
1.4 Strategies for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Comments: Nothing has been mentioned in the lesson plan about the
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. However, there is a scope for
this to facilitate in the class to understand the cultural
background of the students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
backgrounds.
1.5 Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range
of abilities
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Comments: The lesson plan provides a range of ability encouragement to
bring up the potential learning capabilities of the students. It was mentioned
in the lesson plan about the student use of research, class participation,
group discussion, planning and presentation of the speech.
1.6 Strategies to support full participation of students with disability
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Comments: Nothing has been mentioned in the lesson plan about then
students with disability. However, there is a scope for this to include in the
class, so that teacher can encourage the students with disability to
participate within class.
