    WHAT ARE IRTs?


    Infrared thermometers (IRTs) are used
    to screen for the presence of fever, the
    most detectable and probable
    symptom of COVID-19 infection.

    Measure and note down the


    temperature of a normal healthy
    human subject (individual) using
    IRT.

    Measure the temperature of


    person being screened using the
    same IRT.

    Healthy

    Compare the two measurements. If


    an elevated temperature is present,
    further screening by other means
    (like using digital or liquid-in-glass
    thermometer) is necessary.

    An elevated temperature is a temperature appreciably above the temperature of a healthy individual.
