I 1. Cut all your pieces from good quality wool felt.

2. Embroider some turtle shell-like blobs onto the two shell pieces, or even

appliqu6 on some blobs.

I 3. With right sides together, sew the two shell pieces together along one side
I from point A to point B.

I 4. Place head pieces right sides together (is there really a right side to felt?) and
I sew around the head leaving the neck open for turning.

5. Clip the seam and trim the seam, making it easier to turn. Turn right sides out.
(This can be a pain, I use long tweezers to help me) You can always not
bother with the turning and just trim close to your sewing and leave the seam
showing. Place a small amount of stuffing into the turtles head but not the
neck.

6. Sew head and legs in place on the base facing inward as shown. Sew as
close to the outer edge as possible.

7. Place shell and base right sides together, with head and legs tucked inside
and pin in place. Sew around, leaving a turning gap between the front and
back legs.

8. Clip the seam and turn right sides out.

 9. Stuff turtle firmly and hand stitch the turning gap closed. Position turtles head
so that it is upright against the shell and stitch in place. Add some wee little
turtle eyes and hey presto !

You are done.

Make a whole bale of turtles (yes I checked, a group of turtles is called a bale)

To make little turtle party hats, just fold the hat piece in half to form a cone shape
and sew down the side. Turn right sides out and decorate!
