With the success of its flagship brand, JFC acquired some of its competitors in the fast food
business in the Philippines and abroad. Global and Multinational type of corporation integrate
JFC to shape the ways the corporation is organized. Jollibee has a lot of expansions in China,
Brunei, Vietnam, United States, Canada and many more that made this a Global type of
corporation. And it also has a lot of subsidiaries not just in the Philippines but also across the
globe namely Jollibee, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Burger King
Philippines, Smashburger, Yonghe King, Hongzhuangyuan, Tortas Frontera, Panda Express, The
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf although JFC own some of its share and even fully acquired most of
them, they still keep their brand or name identities separate. Many Jollibee branches are scattered
around the globe but some of them offer different menu based on their local or culture
preferences example of the menus are: Vietnam’s Chilli Chicken and Milk Tea, Kuwait’s Spicy
Chickenjoy with Kabsa Rice, UAE’s Chickenjoy with Biryani Rice, Macau’s and USA’s
Chicken Tenders. This aspect makes JFC as a Multinational type. While Transnational and
International type do not integrate JFC because they do not import and export goods since it was
highly perishable and they have centralized decision manner with decision-making powers in a
way JFC would hire managers that will operate the same as in the home country which is not a
characteristic of a transnational type of corporation.
