If you’re interested in some suggestions of things to do and see around the city during your
visit, here are some of our personal favorite places!

Places to see:
 Bourbon Street – It’s not exactly our favorite place, but this is your first time in NOLA
and you’ve never been, it’s worth seeing at least once. It would be like going to NYC
and missing out on Times Square.
 Frenchmen Street – It’s the best place to be at night for music.
 Magazine Street – If you want a more relaxed atmosphere or to be around more locals,
this is probably where you want to be. Food options here are some of the best in the city
and you aren’t getting tourist prices. We definitely recommend getting lunch here and
checking out some of the boutique shops. At night, Balcony and Bulldog are great places
to sit, meet new people, and grab a drink.
 Royal Street – On Saturday during the day is an absolute must! Lots of street music and
performers all over. On Saturday Royal is closed to vehicles. There are approximately
70 art galleries that are welcoming to browsing.
 The French Quarter – We love to walk the river and check out the Riverwalk. Our route
around the quarter is usually walking Decatur to check out Jackson Square up closes and
from across the street on top of the stairs. Definitely grab some beignets while you’re
there. We also recommend walking Canal down to Peters until it merges into Decatur,
and then continue until you get back to the square.
 The French Market – Another really nice place to check out. We suggest Friday
afternoon.

Food:

Lunch:
 Dookie Chase – It’s not too pricey and it’s some of the best creole food that we have to
offer. Presidents come here to eat. (Seriously)
 Jacques-Imo’s – It’s not cheap, but it’s very good.
 Taco’s and Beer – Not New Orleans food, but it’s one our favorite spots! Best place to
go for Taco Tuesday.
 Parkside Tavern – One of the best places to grab a Poboy sandwich! (We recommend
the Roast Beef, fully dressed).
 Hanses Snowballs – Located on Tchoupitulous. Not lunch, but they’re the best
snowballs in the city. If you’re lucky and get there in time, grab a Banana’s Foster
Snowball.
 Brennan’s – Brunch is really their forte
Dinner:
 Muriel’s – We love coming here for the atmosphere. Located in Jackson Square. The
restaurant’s building has quite the backstory so make sure to ask an employee about its
history. Specifically the Ghost Dinner Guest and the Séance Room. While you’re
upstairs checking out the rooms take a look at the square from the balcony.
 Irene’s – Our personal favorite
 Commander’s Palace – Some of the world’s most renowned chefs have been head chef
here such as, Paul Prudhomme and Emeril Lagasse.
 Emeril’s – Owned by Emeril Lagasse
 August – One of the best John Besh restaurants.
Late Night:
 Attiki – Located on Royal Street across from House of Blues. They have great
Mediterranean food. They also offer hookah, and wonderful Chai Tea. (Open until
2AM.)
 Hoshun – Located on St Charles. Great place to grab some Asian food. Good sushi and
sake. (Open until 2AM.)

Please let us know if you need anything else – We always have our phones on us, feel free
to reach out at ANY time! :)

Enjoy!
