Job Summary:-
Tutor works under Lecturer vice Principal/Principal of College of Nursing and conduct
teaching, guidance and counselling & assist in research activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participates in determination of educational purposes & policies in consultation with
the Lecturer /vice Principal/Principal.
2. Contributes to the development & implementation of the philosophy & purposes of the
totaleducation program.
3. Identifies the needs of the learners in terms of the objectives of the program by utilizing
records ofprevious experience, personal interviews, tests & observations.
4. Planning of clinical teaching programme with the cooperation & collaboration of clinical
staff.
5. Teaching of all nursing subjects by using various teaching strategy with assistance from
othermembers of the teaching staff.
6. Guidance to students in methods of study and use of reference book and library.
7. Helps the learner with special problems to seek & use additional help as indicated.
8. Uses incidental & planned opportunities for teaching.
9. Encourages continuous growth & development towards maturity.
10. Promotes continuous growth & development towards maturity.
11. Conduct of periodical & terminal tests.
12. Assure that the assignments of students are fulfilled.
13. Organize seminars, panel discussions, debates etc.
14. Maintains and uses adequate and accurate records.
15. Prepare and channelize clear and concise reports.
16. Participate in the formulation and maintenance of comprehensive record systems.
17. Assist in preparing annual reports of college of Nursing.
18. Visits hospital wards & departments & other clinical field regularly.
19. Arrange initial & periodical health examinations & maintenance of health records.
20. Make periodic visit to student's room to make sure that the practice personal hygiene.
21. Organize social & recreation programme for the students.
22. Initiates and participates in research studies for improvement of educational programme.
23. Maintain inventory of classroom's supplies &equipments.
24. Any other duty that may be assigned to her/him from time to time relating to nursing
education.
Job Summary
He/ She works under the direction of the department head and assists him in
administration, instruction and guidance activities.
Instruction
Identifies the needs of the learners in terms of the program by utilizing the
records of previous experience, personal interviews, tests and observation.
Selects and organizes learning experiences which are in accordance with these objectives.
Plans with the educational unit with nursing service and allied groups.
Ascertains, selects and organizes facilities equipment and materials necessary for learning.
Share information about learner‘s needs and achievements with others concerned.
Research
Make data available concerning learners and concerning methods of teaching and
evaluation.
The top priority of a nursing superintendent is to ensure that the nursing staff members
are providing the best care for patients. She makes sure that individual nurses and nurses
aides are carrying out care plans and ensures that communication between shifts
happens smoothly and thoroughly. The superintendent also monitors stock and supplies
to make sure that nurses have the equipment they need to provide quality care.
The nursing superintendent is responsible for the hiring and training of new staff. She
must search for nurses that complement the existing team, design training programs
and make sure that nursing instructors and trainers are adequately preparing new staff for
the workplace. Often this includes hearing an evaluation of new nurses from the floor staff
during the training period.
Patient care
Although the nursing superintendent does not have a high level of direct patient care,
she is responsible for the well-being of patients at the facility. This means that the
superintendent must monitor nurses' care and the attitude and health of the patients. In
cases where the family requests alternate care, the nursing superintendent must hear
the request and make the final decision.
Each pay period, the nursing superintendent is responsible for setting the work schedules
for the entire department. She must take into account holidays, hear requests for time off, and
create a schedule that gives the appropriate number of hours to each nurse. As part of the
process, the nursing superintendent assigns duties and floor responsibilities to each nurse.

DUTIES OF ASSISTANT NURSING SUPERINTENDENT:
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Take responsibility for a group of activities or subcontractors and manage the work
to be done. Provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and subcontractors to
ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications.
5. Maintain liaison with other departments, i.e., Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, etc.
As required to support construction schedule. May provide assistance to the Superintendent
in resolving problems.
Job Summary:
The post holder will scope the requirements ,design, develop, commission, coordinate and
evaluate appropriate educational programmes, and will manage Continuing Professional
development interventions which are required to meet the current and future Independent
Care sector workforce requirements.
The post holder defines how the expected results are achieved.
The post holder is guided by principles and broad occupational policies or regulations and
will be the lead specialist in the provision of training programmers for nurses within the
Independent sector.
Key relationships:
1. Lead specialist responsible for the effective planning, commissioning, design, delivery,
evaluation and facilitation of learning, training and development programmes to meet the
educational and skills development requirements of Registered Nursing staff working in
the defined area.
These programmes will be chosen from a range of options and will include all registered
staff employed in the Shropshire Care Homes and in domiciliary Care Agencies in
Shropshire which provide nursing services and will be for nursing staff from
approximately 44 Care Homes and also nursing staff in Care agencies in Shropshire.
Responsibility includes ensuring the outcomes are defined, the content of the
programme is successfully negotiated, outcomes are achieved and the programmes are
effectively evaluated, with changes made to improve performance and share good
practice.
Responsibilities:
Workforce Development
1. Develop and facilitate an appropriate Independent Shropshire-wide Independent
sector Nurse Forum and working sub groups arising from this.
2. Participate in the development of the defined nursing workforce by development of an
effective Clinical Supervision/Support strategy for nurses. Lead where appropriate the
relevant working groups;
3. Create close working partnerships with the identified clinical governance leads and in the
facilitation of clinical audit, protocols/ local clinical guidelines and standards in
Independent Care Home practice areas common to community nursing, using the
developing skills and resources available;
4. Maintain a credible and robust personal profile providing guidance and leadership to all
Independent Care Home nursing staff reporting professional concerns to the Independent
Care Home management;
5. Produce an annual report of progress of the post.
Education
1. To develop and maintain the ongoing training needs analysis of Nurses within
Independent Care Settings; to identify the current and future educational requirements in
the short, medium and long term (up to 5 years) to ensure that the future workforce
development requirements are met.
2. Ensure an annual programme of training is maintained and developed in the context
of emerging requirements, working in collaboration with appropriate colleagues.
3. Contribute to development of educational bids and initiatives as they arise;
4. To identify and implement the change management interventions to implement
effective learning programmes within the organisations, e.g. promoting learner
engagement and overcoming barriers in understanding. To deal with distressing and
emotional circumstances which may result from resultant role redesign or reporting of
professional concerns, through various methods of verbal and written communication.
5. Responsible for designing and implementing training needs analysis across
Independent care settings in response to changes to developments in professional
practice, clinical guidelines and regulatory guidance.
6. To analyse and interpret the training needs analyses and implement appropriate
training and development programmes to meet the requirements of professional practice,
clinical guidelines and regulatory guidance.
Professional Development
1. To have expert skills in order to plan, develop, deliver and co-ordinate Continuing
Professional Development programmes necessary to develop the current workforce and
to plan for the future workforce in light of emerging workforce trends and the national
and local agenda e.g. Safe blood transfusions, Nutrition in the Independent Care Sector
2. To facilitate on Continuing Professional Development Training Programmes, e.g.
Blood Transfusion, Clinical Supervisee Training, Tissue Viability, PEG Feeding.
3. To offer advice, to motivate and reassure staff within the Independent Care
Homes/agencies to complete appropriate educational programmes.
4. To plan, develop and design the content of training packs and learning materials.
Management Responsibility
1. To plan and implement methods to monitor, analyse and interpret data, identifying
trends (e.g. attendance of staff at Training events) and relate this to financial data;
analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from audits
2. Informs the formulation and development of policies and protocols relating to
professional practice of various disciplines within the organisations, e.g. blood
transfusion, Tissue Viability.
3. Responsible for interpreting and explaining national, regional and local policy,
relating to professional practice to Senior Managers, their staff groups.
4. To manage projects which impact on various departments ensuring that the projects are
well organised, within clear timescales and project plans are implemented and evaluated
e.g. tissue viability.
5. Responsible for chairing meetings as appropriate.
6. Maintain and develop own CPD and Professional development.
7. Undertake any other duties as may be required by the service.

REGISTRAR OF NURSING COUNCIL
Functions
To recognize the qualifications under section 10(2)(4) of the Indian Nursing Council
Act, 1947 for the purpose of registration and employment in India and abroad.
To give approval for registration of Indian and Foreign Nurses possessing foreign
qualification under section 11(2)(a) of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947.
To advise the State Nursing Councils, Examining Boards, State Governments and
Central Government in various important items regarding Nursing Education in the
Country.
Power Duties
1 To maintain the Register and the List, and to provide for the registration and enlistment of
nurses.
2 To hear and decide appeals from any decision of the Registrar.
3 To prescribe a code of Ethics for regulating the professional conduct of nurses.
4 To reprimand a registered or an enlisted nurse, or to suspend or remove him from the register or
the List, as the case may be, or to take such other disciplinary action against him as may, in the
opinion of the council, necessary or expedient.
5 To hold examinations and to make all necessary arrangements for such examinations.
6 To prescribe the courses of training leading to the examinations held by the council, and to
charge fees for such examinations.
7 To prepare publish and prescribe textbooks and to publish statements of prescribed courses of
study.
8 To grant certificates and diplomas and marks of honour.
9 To award stipends, scholarships, medals, prizes and other rewards.
10 To recognise institution for the purpose of training and giving instruction for the courses
leading to the examination held by the council, or to cancel such recognition.
11 To regulate the conditions under which institutions for the nursing of the sick, maternity or
child welfare may be affiliated to the council.
12 To provide for the inspection of recognised and affiliated institutions, and to require such
institutions to furnish such information as may be necessary.
13 Subject to the approval of the state government, to receive donations and to determine the
conditions of acceptance of donations
14 To exercise such other power and perform such other duties and functions as are laid down this
Act, or as may be prescribed.
NURSE MANAGER
Nurse Manager
Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division's
philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state
nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring
health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and
auxiliary staff.
Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff;
following up on work results.
