The Hiring Manager,

GAJA Capital

Dear Ma’am/ Sir,

I am Rohit Bharvesh, first-year MBA student from IIM Bangalore. As a part of the application process, I
would like to present my candidature for the post of Summer Associate at GAJA capital.

A career in Finance has always fascinated me since it involves developing ingenious and groundbreaking
financial solutions to perplexing, real-time problems, and becoming a part of changing business
paradigms. Along with that, it allows working with the best minds of the world to come up with critical
strategies that deliver maximum profits to clients. GAJA being one of the leading mid-Market Indian
Private Equity firms, would provide me a strong base to start and accentuate my career in finance.

Over the past four years, I was rotated across all the business units of thyssenkrupp in India and have
worked at various levels handling various responsibilities. This helped me gain skills that I believe would
help me on the job; a few instances from my work experience have been mentioned below:

1. Identifying critical issues and having a structured problem-solving approach: As a part of my

rotation, I was assigned to a project of identifying and rectifying the problems on a 40000 ton per year
steel processing line. I began with investigating potential failure modes, performing a root cause
analysis, structuring the data gathered, and troubleshooting the root causes one at a time. This led to
a 10% reduction in processing failures of daily volumes.

2. From strategy to action: With a comprehensive product portfolio, a variety of operations, and a niche
business model, I had the responsibility of strategizing and executing digital transformation projects.
I identified the equipment for which acquisition of data was easy in the current configuration itself
and derived maximum returns. Having identified the equipment with a potential of 5% increase in the
top line, I coordinated with six cross-functional teams to plan, design, and implement the changes.

3. Managing teams: From handling and training 20+ sales engineers for a proposal management system
to 450+ engineers across four business verticals for PLM implementation, coordinating with teams at
Germany and South Africa, I have extensive experience in people management. I was also selected
out of 21000+ employees of thyssenkrupp worldwide for International Mining product development
conclave held at Germany, which helped me experience a different working style.

4. Personal attributes: Working at different functions and capacities helped me gain business insights,
and understand how being meticulous, articulate, conscientious, and adaptable is an integral part of
corporate life.

From what I have learned about GAJA through PPT and personal research, I observed that GAJA provides
an opportunity to work at a higher level of responsibility early on in career. GAJA has a healthy work
culture and a competitive environment with a driven and enthusiastic, top talent pool. Challenging
assignments keeping us on the cusp of our capabilities provides a very conducive environment to advance
as quickly as we develop. Hence, I would like to be a part of and start my career at GAJA Capital.

Yours faithfully,
Rohit Bharvesh
