Betreff: TBO Project; Maersk Line

Engine inspections of A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S' (APMM) E-class fleet of MaK M 32 Maersk Line en¬
gines have shown overall positive results with minimal wear. According to information and state¬
ments provided by APMM these engines are operated, maintained and serviced in accordance with
Caterpillar Motoren (MaK) guidelines. In addition, APMM confirmed that lube oil quality meets such
guidelines and that maintenance is carried out in compliance with Caterpillar Motoren guidelines.

Based on the foregoing and upon request of APMM, we confirm the extension of the recommended
maintenance interval from originally 15,000 hrs to 24.000 hrs and from 30,000 hrs to 36,000 hrs
(except big end and main bearings which are limited to 33,000 hrs), for MaK M32 engines operated
by Maersk Line, provided that such engines are operated under similar operating and maintenance
conditions as the inspected engines mentioned above. In addition we recommend to continue valve
projection measurements at approximately every 1.500 hrs.

For the avoidance of doubt, Caterpillar Motoren does not take any responsibility and does not as¬
sume any liability with regard to any extension of the maintenance interval.
