Making Candles
Steps :
• First of all, melt the wax. All wax has a flash point, so to prevent it bursting into flames,
you must melt it in a double boiler, with water in the bottom pan.
• Then, prepare the mould with the wick. Thread the wick through the mould and make
sure that you leave a good few centimeters sticking out of the hole in the bottom.
• After that, add the scent. If you want a scented candle, add a few drops of essential oil to
the melted wax. You can use any essential oil you like, as long as it doesn’t contain water.
• Next step, pour the wax into the mould. Try and tip the wax into the mould quickly, all
in one go, to minimize spillage and air bubbles.
• Then, release the bubbles and top it up. Releasing the air bubbles will eventually make
the candle sink, so you will need to top it up with more melted wax.
• Finally, remove it from the mould. After four or five hours, the candle can be taken out
of its mould.
• Your candle is now ready for display. Remember, you must always leave it for a day before
lighting it.
PROCEDURE TEXT
Teks procedure merupakan teks yang menjelaskan cara melakukan atau membuat sesuatu
melalui serangkaian tindakan atau langkah. Langkah-langkah tersebut harus dilakukan secara runtut
agar hasilnya sesuai dengan yang dikehendaki.
Teks procedure dapat berupa cara membuat ataupun manggunakan sesuatu, seperti manual
(petunjuk pemakaian alat rekam suara, petunjuk pemakaian kamera, petunjuk pemasangan mesin
cetak), resep masakan, langkah kerja percobaan/ eksperimen, dan tutorial (cara mengedit foro
dengan suatu program tertentu dan cara membuat kerajinan tangan).
Struktur teks procedure :
1. Aim/ goal: mengemukakan atau memperkenalkan sesuatu yang akan dibuat atau dilakukan.
Biasanya muncul dalam teks sebagai judul.
2. Ingredients/ materials: memaparkan bahan-bahan atau material yang dibutuhkan.
Bagian ini tidak harus selalu ada dalam teks procedure.
3. Steps/ methods: mencantumkan langkah-langkah dalam membuat atau melakukan sesuatu
dengan urut.
Ciri-ciri kebahasaan teks procedure:
1. Menggunakan simple present tense, sering dalam bentuk kalimat perintah (imperative)
2. Menggunakan kata penghubung temporal (first, then, next, finally) atau penomoran untuk
menunjukkan urutan.
3. Menggunakan kata kerja tindakan (action verbs).

Steps:
Spoon one scoop of ice cream into each glass. Take the jug of coke and pour it in equal amounts,
into each glass. Swizzle quickly with your spoon to create a frothy effect. Finally place a straw
into each glass.Your coke float is now ready to serve!
Risoles
Ingredients:
250 gr flour, 70 gr butter, 1 egg, 2 pieces of chicken legs, 100 gr carrot, 50 gr scallions, 4
pieces of shallots, 2 pieces of garlic, 15cc sweet soy-sauce, 200 gr bread crumbs, salt.
Direction:
• Mix 1/2 of the egg with flour and butter
• Form thin layer of squares - for wrappers
• Remove the bones from the chicken legs, cut them into small pieces
• Skin carrots, boil until half done, and cut into tiny pieces. Cut scallions into tiny
pieces.
• Grind shallots and garlic.
• Heat pan with butter, put in shallots and garlic.
• In a couple of minutes, put in chicken
• Stir a little bit, and put in carrots, scallions
• Mix evenly.
• Add salt and pepper to taste, add sweet soy-sauce.
• Cook until chicken is done.
• Put 1 spoon of the result above into each square.
• Wrap it.
• Dip it in the 1/2 egg left, pour flour.
• Heat oil in a pan.
• Deep fry the risoles on medium heat until golden brown.
• Serve with hot chili pepper.

pepper. Cook about 5 minutes stirring often, until soft. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

5. Add potato cubes, salt, paprika and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until potatoes
are browned about 10 minutes.
6. Stir in the onions, green peppers and parsley and cook for another minute. Serve hot.

Fungsi Past Continuous Tense
1. Menunjukkan pekerjaan yang sedang terjadi pada masa lampau.
Contoh:

2. Menunujukkan dua buah aktifitas yang sedang terjadi bersama-sama di masa lampau.
Contoh:

3. Berfungsi untuk menunjukkan aktifitas yang sedang terjadi di masa lampau di saat kejadian lainnya

The husband thought that deep in the forest there was a magical flower that can cure all diseases
guarded by a witch. Because of his love for his wife, he went to the forest. After arriving in the woods, he
crept to take the flowers. When she was picking the flowers that were in the midst of garden, the witch
knew. She was furious and wanted to kill him. “Please do not kill me. My pregnant wife was sick. If I did
not give this magical flower she and my baby will die “the husband said. Finally the witch let him go,
but with one condition when the baby was born, he had to give the baby. Without thinking, her husband
agreed.
When he got home, he gave the magic flower to his wife. Then his wife’s illness miraculously
disappeared and she born a beautiful baby. When the baby was born, the witch came. She robbed the
baby and took him away. They could not do anything about it.
The witch was holding their baby at a very high tower with no doors. The tower only has a window
in it. Witch was raising the child in the tower and named her Rapunzel. Rapunzel grew into a beautiful
girl. Her hair which was never cut became very long. The witch was always coming to the tower to bring
food. She always called him from below, “Rapunzel let your hair down”. She used her hair as a rope to
climb the tall tower.
Rapunzel stayed on top of the tower alone even she never saw human except that witch. She had a
very beautiful voice so that her days were spent to sing. One day, a handsome prince passed the tower.
He heard Rapunzel singing so beautifully. He fell in love with her voice. The prince came to the tower
every day to hear Rapunzel sing. One day, the prince saw a witch climbed the tower using Rapunzel
hair.
