PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Present Continuous Tense or known as Present Progressive Tense is a simple form of


sentences using Present Participle (Verb-ing) indicating an action which is in progress at the time
of speaking.

Present Continuous Tense used to describe an event that is happening or is being right
now or at the time of speaking

Present Continuous Tense used to describe an temporary event or situation.

 Adverb of time used :


- now
- right now
- at the moment
- today
- tonight
- this morning, etc.

 Form :

Subject + to be (am/is/are) + Verb-ing

Positive sentences S + to be+ verb-ing I am eating
Negative sentences S + to be + not + verb-ing They are not singing
Interrogative sentences To be + S + verb-ing? Are you crying ?
