CIM
The Communication Interface Module (CIM) is an intelligent battery management module
which collects wireless communication data from the downstream BIM groups, collects the
operating data of battery strings, calculates State Of Charge (SOC) and State Of Health (SOH)
of batteries and battery strings, estimates the battery health status, supports battery tripping
management, and uploads data to the MDU/ECC through RS485 or PoE ports.
Collects battery data detected by the BIM through wireless communication.
Each CIM can manage a maximum of four battery strings or 300 batteries.
An external Hall effect sensor is connected to monitor the current of each battery string.
Calculates the SOC and SOH of batteries and battery strings.
Accurately identifies weak batteries in a battery string.
Identifies loose battery terminals and battery terminal overtemperature, and controls
battery switch tripping.
If the upgrade package is transmitted to the CIM within 30 minutes, the upgrade is complete. The BIM
upgrade is finished through the CIM backend. The CIM ensures the successful upgrade of the BIM
through retransmitting and flow control.
Figure 3-48 shows the CIM front view, and Figure 3-49 shows the CIM rear view.

Table 3-42 lists the technical specifications of the Heptafluoropropane fire extinguisher.
Item Specifications
The CE-certified fire extinguishing system supports the customized copper fluoride
(NOVEC1230) extinguishant.
Copper fluoride (NOVEC1230) is a new-generation extinguishant that has been favored like
Heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ea) for recent years. Copper fluoride (NOVEC1230) has been
widely proved to be eco-friendly and safe. It can be used to extinguish fire caused by
flammable liquid, gas, and electrical equipment. Physical and chemical actions are combined
during extinguishing. Generally copper fluoride (NOVEC1230) is a colorless and odorless
liquid. It does not contain bromine or chlorine, does no harm to the ozonosphere (ODP = 0),
and resides for a short time in the atmosphere (ATL = 0.014Y).

(1) VESDA detection unit (2) Sampling pipes (3) Air sampling pipe plugs
Working Principle
The detection unit includes the suction pump, filter, high-sensitive smoke detector, and
precision electrical analyzer. The air detector of the VESDA can detect fire in the initial phase
and generates alarms at an early time.
The detection unit of the VESDA sucks air samples from the monitored environment through
the air sampling tube to the smoke detector and works out the dust density in the air. If the
dust density exceeds the preset alarm threshold, the VESDA blinks and sends an alarm signal
to the monitoring module.
Features
High sensitivity
The VESDA features extremely high sensitivity and wide sensitivity adjustment range
(0.005%–20% obs/m). It can detect both potential fire in the early phase and particles
released by the softened insulation layer of an overloaded power cable.
Precise detection result
The VESDA works in active air sampling mode. The efficient aspirator continuously
sends air samples from the protected area to the detection chamber for analysis. The
detection result and response time are less influenced by air flow compared with a
traditional fire detection method.
Flexible installation
The VESDA detection unit is compact and easy to install. The air sampling pipes can be
deployed depending on site requirements. The air sampling pipes are made of PVC and
can be installed on or under the ceiling, under the floor, at air return vents of air
conditioners, and in locations that need special protection. For example, the sampling
capillaries can be installed in a cabinet to monitor equipment in the cabinet.
Easy maintenance
The VESDA is equipped with a special filter that filters air for cleaning the laser
measuring chamber, ensuring that the laser detector has a long lifespan. The filter can be
easily maintained and replaced, and cleaned by blowing air into the air sampling pipes.
Therefore, you do not have to replace any other components.
Efficient auto-diagnosis system
The VESDA is designed with an efficient auto-diagnosis system for monitoring the
working status of itself, the network, and the air sampling pipes in real time. If a fault is
detected, the system generates an alarm and indicates the fault location for
troubleshooting.
Signal Ports
Indoor signal ports are protected to 1 kV for common mode.
Signal ports for routing cables out of the container pass the 3 kA impulse current test.
3.6.2 Grounding
Internal Grounding
The main earthing terminal (MET) is installed in the container and connects to the external
ground grid over ground downleads.
Equipment in the container connects to the ground busbar over ground cables and are
insulated from other metal parts.
External Grounding
M12 bolt ground points are evenly located on the container exterior. Ensure that the two
diagonal ground points are connected to the ground grid. The FusionModule1000 provides
two external ground points, as shown in Figure 3-61. The ground resistance is within 10
ohms.
