For the final hero project, I have decided to do Fredrick Douglass. Frederick Douglass

fits this week's hero theme because he lived in the 1800’s, and he made many accomplishments

during that century. Frederick Douglass can be classified as a hero, because he fought for what

was right. He believed that every person should be treated equally in the United States, and he

wanted to demolish slavery. “ In 1845 he described his experience in Narrative of the Life of

Frederick Douglass, an American Slave- which empowered the abolitionist movement”

(DiDonato 1). I feel as if Frederick Douglass has impacted society for the greater good. He has
supported the equal rights of all races, genders, creeds, and colors, and also fought for everyone

to be equal in liberty as a nation of laws. “ - let him alone. Don’t pass laws to degrade

him”(DiDonato 2). Frederick Douglass was a man who valued freedom, justice, and equality. He

wanted freedom for other slaves, and equality and justice for the freed slaves, and women.
